Yup. Phil Horvath is no Garrett Wolfe.

Just FYI, Wolfe is leading the nation in scoring and is second in the MAC in rushing yds per game. Also, he was recruited by the likes of Arizona State, but they backed off when his grades were questionable. Their mistake.

Suffice to say that we knew the BG game was one of our two biggest of the year, and we played like it. Also, when you run a scheme like you run eventually the ball is going to hit the ground. No matter how short the passes, a pass is still a lower percentage play than a handoff, and eventually it will be a bad pass or a drop. We count on that - catch the ball short, come up and pop you, and don't allow big plays. That's sound defense.

And no, Omar didn't cause BG to lose to NIU. Not even close - I was impressed. I was surprised, however, that you didn't use him running the ball more.

Why do we keep bringing up NIU? That game is over with, we lost, can't change anything, just forget it! It won't mean anything until the end of the season so bringing it back up then is alright I guess...

And even when his grades were BEYOND questionable, he still stuck around at NIU. Hmmm...

As my g/f put it after he broke off a couple of long runs early (as opposed to the late long runs. grrr!) "he's gotta get 'em in before midterms hit."

For the record, unclassmen athletes are held to higher GPA standards at NIU than the NCAA mandates.

which is a good thing, obviously. I just thought it was funny to hear coming out of her mouth, as she's normally Miss "Why are you yelling at the TV, they can't hear you!"

That and once they showed those damn Huskie pups on the sideline, she was a converted NIU fan... damn women!!!

Omar is still #2 for total offense in D 1-A, but is now first in "points responsible for".
