Robert Redd
While he hasn't cracked the depth chart yet, he is looking good in the videos as well as Cole does. In the pictures from monday they have a picture of him with a towel over his head drinking gatorade. It's the last picture if anyone wants to check it out.

Ive seen Robert Redd play and played against Jennings in HS (Go Cali!), but I would have to give the nod to Adam Jennings. Hes a Randle el type player without the throwing ability. He CAN/will do anything the coach asks. Redd is quick but not fast, this is probably the reason hes been cut so many times(and his height)moneymaker02 wrote:actually going back and looking at all the videos, Redd looks like the 4th best reciever behind white, jenkins, and adam jennings the kid from fresno.

There are plenty of good athletes that come from Ohio. Names like Joey Galloway, Ted Ginn, Charles Woodson, etc.moneymaker02 wrote:Key word, SOLID, but the best athletes come from the states you mentioned. To play football at the highest level you need both football players & athletes, preferably football players who are athletes. There may be, on the whole, more athletic players coming from those other states, but there certainly is no shortage of athletes coming from Ohio as well.

I have no idea what your definition of "athlete" is (since, apparently, track stars aren't athletes) but here is a list of NFL players from Ohio:moneymaker02 wrote:ted ginn is not an athlete, he's a track star wearing football pads. he runs strait ahead and has under average hands.

Of course, this list doesn't include all of the non-athletes that were drafted over the last couple years: A.J. Hawk (not fast, not strong, not a great LB), Donte Whitner (very slow), etc. Plus all of the Ohio scrubs on OSU, ND, Penn St., Pitt, etc.
It is almost pointless to argue on the subject with anyone who doesn't think Ted Ginn is an athlete, but I will anyways.
When he was drafted Woodson was a very athletic player. I would argue Bentley & Pace are phenomenal athletes as well, especially for their size. Same goes for Terry Glenn, Rickey Dudley, and plenty of other Ohio players. AJ Hawk is definitely a football player, but he's also a superb athlete. Brady Quinn, Ben Roethlisberger, and Troy Smith are all athletes as well, IMO. Omar was from Florida, Harris from Ohio; Personally I thought Harris was the better athlete.
Ohio has plenty of athletes, and a lot of those guys can also play football. As for which you'd rather have, I'll take a team full of football players any day. There is a base level of athleticism that is obviously required, but if you go out and get the best group of athletes available you will likely lose to the team that went out and got the best group of football players available. Being a good football player requires you to be athletic, but being athletic says very little about your ability to play football.
