Recruiting Class for Next Year

Definitely a great get! With our offense I really worry about our WR corps this year. We've been blessed with some talented WRs in the past, but we're devoid of experience this year. Between that and Parks returning from injury and losing whatshisface to academic issues we're thinner than we've been at WR in a LOOOONNNNGGG time. Even Blackney's teams had good WR depth.

It's not much to go on, but any time I have questions about WR's, I think about the Major League-esque "Who's this f*ckin' guy?" as I watched Sharon bumble his way through the EKU game. He turned out all right.

Very true, but he didn't really come on until his sophomore year, his Freshman year he was very inconsistent hands-wise. Sharon is definitely a success story, but even looking at his story, I'd hate to be dependent on 3-4 FR year-esque Sharon's, ya know? We really need Corey to step up, and if we can get something out of Ruiz, that'd rock as well. Parks has a lot of talent too, if his leg heals.

Oh, I know we can't rely on awkward freshmen turning into gamebreakers like Chuck, but it can happen. I think if Corey stays healthy, he'll be fine, and Ruiz and O'Drobinak will give AT (or whoever) some big targets with experience to throw to. (Jimmy Scheidler is a big kid, too, at TE, seemed alot taller than the 6'4" he's listed at on the website) and if we find a deep threat to stretch things out (I don't remember, could M. Parks be that guy if healthy?) that would be even better.

This is where Brantley and Jones MUST step up. As 5 yr sr's, I know folks are counting on them to step up. In fairness to Brantley, he's battled some injuries thru his time here. But if there was ever a time for these guys to make their mark...

Just looking over the scout.com site, BG has apparently offered a couple more QB's.

Nate Brown from Harrisburg, PA who is a 3-star and none of his other favorites have offered according to the site. He is 6'5" 225 and runs a 4.69 40, he sounds like he could be another QB in the mold of Harris and Jacobs.

Also, a QB by the name of Matt Rodgers from Pittsburgh, PA reports an offer from BG. He is 6'3" 180, reports a 4.7 40, and is listed as a 2-star.

Matt Rodgers is from Seton-LaSalle HS in Pittsburgh. The last two QB's from there were Bruce Gradkowski and Bill Stull. Of course you know Gradkowski. Stull I believe is with Pittsburgh now.
