Tailgating spot for Wisky?

Post by Falconfreak90 »

OK...now that we're roughly 25 days away, where are we gonna tailgate? Hammb knows all the good spots down in the stadium area so I vote for whatever lot he thinks is best.

Any thoughts?

I don't know ALL the good spots. I only know the best spot. I have always tailgated in the Muni lot, just off the shoreway for Browns games. It's a party and is only a couple block walk to the stadium.

Problem is, that it's also closer to the airport than most other downtown lots, and with the air show being that day, we may be better served to choose another lot. I'm really not that familiar with those other lots, but I think some others on here have discussed them. I can certainly ask some Browns fans where they'd suggest for this game as well.

It is definitely time to start thinking about it though!

"The PIT" Westside of stadium down by the railroad tracks. It's a great party zone. I go there for all the Browns games. You haven't tailgated in C-Town unless you have witnessed "The PIT"! Crazy! Plus, after the game you can just walk up the hill to West 6th for all of the nightlife.

I've never tailgated there, but it sounds like a good option for this game.

I'll still stick with the muni lot for the Browns games. So long as the Frankenbong guys frequent the muni :)

For Browns games you can park overnight in the city owned lots. They'll come by and charge the people that are already parked when they open the lot officially. I generally start tailgating around 6:00 AM and the lot is always open with somebody taking money at the gate at that time. I'm also never even close to the first person there.

Of course those games are 1:00 it might be a different story for a 7:00 game.

Sounds good to me as well. I'll make plans to TG there unless anyone has other ideas.

I actually park in that lot for work -- are we talking about the one under the Main Ave. bridge? -- and walk up the hill; it's not a bad walk to the bars/stadium from there.

It's 2 bucks to park there on the weekends, not sure if they'll change it for the BG game, although if you all get there at 1 p.m. or so, I doubt it will be event parking.

I was actually going to suggest that lot to my crew (probably 20 or so people) for the day. It's a good spot.

I agree with Falcon52, that's probably the best spot for the "west side" tailgaters for Browns games (nothing beats the Muni lot on the east side). Coupled with Hammb's air show point, I think that lot should be the call for everyone- just my 2 cents.

The muni lot is the best. That would be my choice but I'm also worried about air show parking there. I've never really ventured over to the westside and don't really know how to get over there. It might be a game day decision for me as to where to tailgate. I'll probably just look for the most BG people partying and having a good time.

The air show will have most of the East side parking locked. It's a pretty big deal and always has been.

I initially wanted the Muni Log but I believe the West side is ideal. Let the Wisky fans battle for parking on the East side.

I think we would be better off on the West Side of the stadium, not sure if the parking lot has a name. But the whole east side and along the shoreway will be filled with airshow traffic

You would go straight down West 3rd, Under Route 2, bridge over the railroad tracks...then turn to the left into it.

Just pull up a mapquest for Cleveland Brown Stadium and you'll see what I am talking about.

I think my caravan is leaving Wadsworth about 3 ish...it's airshow weekend...Freak I'll need a wing man...join up in flight in Montrose say 3:15???

If Freak isn't in Cleveland by 3pm for tailgating before the opener, I'll eat a bug.

I assume that you're talking about the lot pictured here just to the left of the A balloon. It's where I usually park and tailgate for Browns games.
