I think the Miami game potentially could be the smallest crowd on our home schedule. We drew a little more than 17,000 for a mid-week November game last year against Toledo. Thats against our bitter rival with the MAC East title on the line. If it should happen that neither Miami or BG is in the title hunt and the weather is crappy I could see a crowd around 13,000. That being said I think our 1st 3 home games at the Doyt will pull in between 15 and 20k and the game in Cleveland shouldbe upwards of 30,000.

Although I was assured by the university that the attendance figure for last year's game against Toledo was accurate, I still don't believe it.

My thoughts exactly 'Freak. I was always surprised that our figures were as low as they were announced. Last year it always seemed - and looked - like we had a few thousand more than they announced. You'd almost think it would be the other way around if it were off, but it wasn't.

I find it interesting that a newspaper out in Utah is reporting BG violated an NCAA attendance policy and not the Toledo Blade, a paper close to BGSU. My geuss is that there could have been a typo because most of the games did look like they would average the required 15,000 fans.

If you ask me...it sounds like the bureaucRATS are trying to eliminate the MAC conference!

i felt the same way... i was curious to see what the numbers for each game were so i went and and looked and i am surprised that some of them were that low. But I guess we have to take their word. I think i remember Akrons game and don't remember it looking like under 10,000.

Oct. 1st vs Temple 19462
Oct 8th vs. Ohio 14177
Oct 22nd vs Western Michigan 13959
Oct. 29th vs. Akron 9608
Nov. 22nd vs. Toledo 17438

I thought the same about the Akron attendance. Small, but not THAT small. But that seems to be the running theme around here, because I'm in agreement that the UT game seemed like ALOT more than 17,000+

falconfan1999,

Make sure you and the Mrs. stop over at the AZZ tg area! I don't know it you told me but where do you live in Huron? Mrs. Freak's dad and stepmom live over in those condos on Riverside drive. I think it's the Thunderbird golf course across the street? Right down the street from Rt 2. Always makes for a nice stop on the way up or back from a BG game instead of having to drive all the way from Akron.

Sorry, I don't want to hijack the thread, but I grew up in Huron. Lovely community on the Lake. Strong BG presence in the city because of Firelands College.

Now to get back on topic...My wife and I will be at the Wisky, Miami, and Homecoming game, so I figure I'm doing my part for the attendance.

and so goes the rout in which the BCS will separate themselves from D1
we all knew this day was coming, and it has not been hidden, esp with so many D1 schools overall not meeting this reasonable standard.
