PJ Pope: Bears
Not sure whether it has been mentioned elsewhere, but PJ will likely be the Bears featured RB tonight against San Francisco. Benson and Jones are hurt and the coaches don't want Adrian Peterson to get hurt, so PJ is expected to get double-digit carries tonight. Hopefully he can do enough to make a strong case for making the opening day roster or put on a show for other teams around the league that need a good, all-around RB.

End of 3rdQ. 6 carries for 14yards, and 1 catch for 24. He's actually the Bears leading rush for tonight as sad as that is. Griese and that WR Rasheid Davis from San Jose St. are the only 2 players really shinning on Offense right now for CHI. Hopefully he'll bust a big gainer in the 4th!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Ya know, I didn't think he looked too shabby last night. I just watched the game on the DVR, and I was very impressed by him. In addition, the SF announcers kept up with the positive comments about him. In regards to his stats, its also worth noting that he had a 14 yd. reception called back due to an illegal formation call.

I just watched the game on Tivo and Pope stood out in the first half. The 24 yard reception was on third and long and he broke two tackles along the sidelines to get it. The play was challenged but upheld, so everybody got a nice long look at PJ.
Pope also submarined a blitzing linebacker to give Griese the extra second he needed to throw the Bears' first td pass.
