Brandon Bland to BG

Post by UK Peregrine »

According to the Lexington-Herald Leader today, Brandon Bland (6' 2", 170 lbs.), who is from John Hardin High in Elizabethtown, "signed" to play with BG. He averaged 15.2 points a game this past year as one of the top guards in the state. His honors include: King of the Bluegrass All Tournament Team, Nelson County All Tournament Team, All 17th District Team, All 5th Region Team, All State Honorable Mention, All Area First Team.

I thought the late signing period ended back in May, so this may just be a verbal commitment to BG. I'm not sure.

When I saw "Brandon Bland" I thought this would belong in the football forum. :-D

I believe he may be a walk-on. He is enrolled. Since neither Freeman nor Phillips are on the roster anymore, there is an open spot.

Now, if Bland is actually on scholarship, that means we now have 14 commitments for the upcoming year. Did someone bolt?

Well, I think all 13 scholarships pluss Guerin were accounted for in the Strongman Competition notes posted on the offical site yesterday.

Looks like we may have a full house again.

He was available late, possibly b/c of academics. Maybe he'll take an academic redshirt.

We already have 13 of our scholarships taken up. How can we add another player?

Well, perhaps he isn't getting a scholarship.

I think he might be getting one of our current players scholarships, but that player will remain on the team. That came from a very good source!!
How's that for something GOOD concerning our basketball program?

Please tell me it's Floyd!

I would guess that it's LeFeld though...giving up his schollie because he isn't going to be able to play.

Floyd makes more sense, given his recent infractions. If Lefeld can't play, then it he wouldn't practice, and that basically constitutes NOT staying on the team.

So, anybody got a scoop on this Bland character? Hope he can play the point!
