Wiskys Star QB Stocco goes down..

Post by bgbrandon »

Just read that Wisky QB john stocco underwent surgery today and may not be playing against us... feel bad for the guy, but this certainly would help us!

Can't be good for Wisconsin

Post by BigAppleBucky »

Gutsy / heady kid. I think I liked him at QB more than the average UW fan, but he certainly endeared himself to Badger backers with his performance in the Capital One Bowl on top of a bunch of 300 yard passing games last season.

Will the UW staff announce his replacement?

Last year's #2, Tyler Donovan, is more of a running threat, but much less of a passing threat.

Redshirt freshman, Dustin Sherer, is said to be a drop back passer more similar to Stocco than Donovan, but hasn't been in a game yet.

Should be interesting.

It'll certainly be interesting to see how this plays out...even if Stocco is close to playing by the BG game, I wonder if he'll be effective. Bears watching.

Sounds to me like Stocco is probably out against BG even if he is close to being ready. I can't imagine that the coaches will rush things to get him back for the game against us. Fantastic news for our chances, but hopefully the young man makes a complete recovery in time for his conference season.

What hurt us last year was Wisky rb Brian Calhoun and massive o-line. My 84 year-old granny could been qb last year for Wisky and they woulda still won.

This isn't last year. Go away.

Sorry, but your 84-year-old granny would be dead after Smith's hit last year. I wouldn't suggest thinking about putting her on the field regarless of the o-line.

Not if she just handed of the ball to Calhoun all day. *end of sarcasm*

Well, if we don't play 8-9 in the box right from the start, since Stocco will either be out or less than 100%, and the entire receiving core is new, I will officially think each and every one of our coaches with any kind of defensive input need to all be replaced.

My god it was frustrating watching us stay in base while Calhoun destroyed us last year. I'll never know why we just didn't run blitz and play man every play until they beat us over the top.

At least our coaches arent like USC and make Anthony Turner donate to a charity so that he can play in this game! As for Stocco I feel bad for him, but this sure will help our chances and actually even it out a little bit!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I'd rather see Stocco play...last season, he didn't beat us at all...we got owned on the run game. As a matter of fact, the backup that came in after the huge hit on Stocco looked more impressive than Stocco.

While this will hurt Wisky somewhat, they are still a physical, Big Ten team and will be ready to play. We're ready...they'll be ready. Somebody kill these last 19 days now!!
