Rhett Magner?
I really hoped there would be some buzz about Cole's brother. I thought he came into the program fairly well regarded.

You're right, I haven't really heard much about him save for last summer when he arrived on campus. I guess part of this is due to the fact that he was redshirted last year, but I am kind of surprised that I have heard no mention about any possible contribution that he might make this year.
Has anyone heard anything?

I havent heard anything. I'm sure he is going to be about the #4 or 5 WR for us this year, but keep in mind he has all 4 years of eligibility left. Chuck is arguably one of the best WRs of all time at BG and no one ever talked about him his freshman year, same for Steve Sanders.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

We were also the only school to recruit him, I believe. He was also not even the best WR on his HS team.moneymaker02 wrote:probally because the only reason he is here is because of cole. he's 5-10 160, he's not gonna be the impact player cole was
I'd love to see Rhett become a real good player for us, but I'd be absolutely shocked at the same time. Other than his brotherly ties, I have no idea why we would've recruited him.

There certainly is historical precedent for BG recruiting siblings that have no other chance of playing D-I ball. 8)hammb wrote:We were also the only school to recruit him, I believe. Hmmm...Good Point. I thought I remembered looking at colony HS stats and seeing him as a WR...oh well, guess not.orangeandbrown wrote:Rhett was a QB in HS, like Cole.

I still am not sure that he's a legit D1 Talent. His brother was gifted with size that Rhett doesn't seem to have. At least it seemed Cole was larger than 160 pounds when he got on campus, maybe I'm wrong though.

I recall hearing that Cole was a buck and a half or so when he was recruited here too. Rhettt Magner's lited weight is the same as the day he signed his LOI. I doubt seriously that the kid hasn't gained any weight.
i wish to God that people would quit harping on the listed weights for players. It's pretty obvious that they dont update many, if any, of them over time so worrying about it is an excerise in futility.

Wow. It took 22 whole minutes for someone to not pay attention to Flipper.MatelaAntwerp wrote:Rhett Magner needs to be bigger than 160 pounds.
Usually it's much quicker than that.

Everybody has to be good at something!
I just wish Rhett Magner was better at gaining wait. Dude's gonna be 160 forever at this rate!
