I've been to the last 3 BG/OU games in Athens and it really is a beautiful drive down to the campus. And this time of year when the leaves are changing?? Hard to beat that combo.

I still say BG wins this game....35-16. C ya'll in Athens.

GO FALCONS!!!

the best weekend of the year

The leaves will be in full color. There is still enough green left to give a nice contrast.

Hey! I take pride in Athens. It is the third poorest county in the state (Vinton and Meigs being 2 and 1 respectively). Why must you bring up the Miami thing all the time...why defend Miami's standards on a BG cite? I don't know...I got into Miami and said "no" because of Athens and the faculty that was awaiting me when I got here. I am also proud to be a prof at this fine institution.

Anyway...you should have a nice time. Homecoming is a good time around here. Get here early and stay late.

MedlerBobcat,

Hey, I was only picking fun with you because of your Booring Green and how high can BG students counts comments. I only got started about that stuff because you did, but it's all in good fun. No hard feelings. I was just simply pointing out that all schools and towns/cities have their own appeal to the masses. What one may love, the other may hate. That's one of the great things about America, we have a million things to choose from: colleges, colors, flavors, channels, stations, etc. But when you come over to another schools board and make negative comments, you've gotta expect a shot back at you.

Personally, I don't mind Ohio, I think it's a good school and know some who loved going there and others who hated it. To each, their own. Every school has their share or Knuckleheads that can ruin or taint a schools image for others, but I pretty much take that with a grain of salt. But then there's your boy KitKat, on the other hand, he pretty infamous on this board. :) A few years ago he came over hear talking crap about how BG should drop football, BG should be I-AA, etc.. OBVIOUSLY, the guy has no knowledge of BG football - at all! If we're going to start talking about dropping football or moving to I-AA, we'll start with Ohio any day before we do BG. Traditions and history tell the story no matter what anyone wants to say, me or him. But since his stupid comments, BG has been ranked in the TOP-25 for two consecutive seasons, has went to and won another bowl game, has beaten several Top-25 teams, including #16 Purdue on the road, has hosted ESPN College Gameday, has been on national TV eight times in the last two season (with at least one more appearance this season yet to come), has gone 8-2 against the BCS, had two sellout crowds of 30,000 plus last season, recorded the best overall record in the conference the last three years, etc. Not to mention our history of five other bowl appearance including three bowl wins since the early 1990s, our 10 MAC titles, our 221 MAC wins (both totals are 2nd most in the MAC), etc., etc, etc. The next time Ohio accomplished any off these feats, it will be the first time.

I jump on other board from time to time, like Bobcatattack.com, to see what other MAC followers are thinking and saying. And I see KitKat is still up to his old tricks. I gotta say, the guy is pretty messed up in the head, he really is. :coo-coo: His latest comments about BG are priceless for those of us who have read them in the last day or two over there. For those that haven't seen them, take a look. Most that have seen them probably have enjoyed them as much as I have. Seeing the Ohio faithful basically telling him to calm down is funny in itself. But since he doesn't come back here talking junk much anymore - and maybe that's because he finally realized what an idiot he is and that he doesn't have a leg to stand on when it come to talking MAC football, or maybe it was watching Ohio get destroyed 31-0 to I-AA Northeastern at home back a few years ago shook some sense into him, I don't know?

But it's good to see your not taking it to the same extreme. You should be proud of your school and I appreciate visiting fans than come on board to chat. I promise to quit with the jokes if you do too? :)

May the better team win on Saturday! GO BG!!!

Why hasn't anyone picked on our preference to the herbal medication?

I can take a good joke...I'm full of them...it's what makes these weeks leading up to football Saturdays interesting.

It's the people who take it to the depth of personal who get me. The Marshall board pretty much gave me hell when I got there.

Anyway...feel free to go after the OU stereotype...I don't I'll cry...too much. :?

No doubt Kdog! I had 35-16 but I didn't mind seeing BG score that last TD. 5 Min left it was 34-16!
