Its not to far off now.
With the badgers qb gone indefinately and the line droping from 9 to 1.5 (in favor of WI) I like our increased odds on this game, esp if our D is able to put Tyler on his back early and shake his confidence. I do have confidence in our D's ability to this, this year. From what I have seen this D has the fire, the fire they will need to compensate for what I see as more tradionally low scooring Offense. I see our D keeping us in the game this year as I expect spuratic play on offense, esp early on in the season, morphing in to a team that averages 14- 17 pts a game. I think some big plays on D will win us several games this year, that in past years of being spoiled by one of the top scoing O's int he country, were left as gravy.

I have many worries about the punt formation and its ineherent dangers, all the while knowing the benifts of reduced returns. I just dont like it.

I dont think AT has developed the level of comfort needed to be effective and lacks confidence in his ability to lead our O, which is why I have stated that we should go with a TFR and develop him instead of continuing to work on tryng to develop AT on what could well be a wasted effort. )I would like to be proven very, very wrong on this by his game play, but in the practices I have seen, I have yet to see that flair, that confidence of a Champion QB(

So the match up with WI could be very interesting as it could lead to a new QB, or create a very interesting QB question esp if _______ plays out standing against WI and AT comes in and does not look good..

From what I seeing I think our attendance is going to be good for the game in WI. lots of good pro mo and even calls form alum friends to see about game plans. Real good buzz on the game. Anyone have any numbers on ticket sales yet, even though I feel a lot of folks will be buying day of the game tickets.

Just note on O. I am looking very, very , very forward to seeing just how much faster our RB's in the game. We have got some real spped int he back field and think they have little more extra for game day, I cant wait to be impressed further by a couple backs, who I think will out shine Pope and lane, I realy think so.

I think the loss of Corey on offense is really going to come back and bite us in this game. But being the first game of the year, there are so many unknown elements are entering this game that it's really hard to predict anything. I think Stocco being out is going to hurt Wisky more than AT being out for us. The running game is will be big for both teams early to kind of set a tone and pace for the rest of the game, hopefully our D-line doesn't get as blasted as last year.

With all that said, an upset isn't out of the question, but neither is a Wisky blowout. I think both teams have a lot of questions to be answered, and we'll see how things turn out.

BTW, got my student seats today, Sec 121, Row 3, Seats 1&2, hope to see all you crazies there!

I think us losing Bobby Thomas, Deaudre Perry, Corey Partridge, and Anthony Turner is by far a bigger loss than Wisky losing Stocco. With that being said I think we still have a chance to win, just not as good of a chance as we should have!

There is only one thing that matters in this game.

Can BG even get a sniff of stopping the run? If we could've stopped the run even a little bit last year, we win by two scores. This year, UW has a freshman rb who is supposed to be a bruiser. Can our undersized front seven force the baaaadgers to pass to move the ball? If they can, it will make a big difference if Stocco is not in. Stocco isn't spectacular, but reports are that Donovan isn't much of a passer (more of a running threat). I like the matchup of our secondary vs Donovan and UW's zero experience at WR. If it comes down to that, I think we actually have an advantage.

I expect offense to be a struggle for us. We are also very green on offense and will need a couple of outstanding performances from inexperienced guys if we want to score on what will be a very talented defense.


If we can sort of stop the run, and Stocco doesn't play, I put our chances to win around 35%. If we can sort of stop the run, and Stocco is somewhat effective, I put it around 20%. If we can't stop the run, nothing else matters. Our chances would be zero.

Like I've said before, regardless of what QB lines up for Wisky, I better see bodies stacked up in the box until Wisky proves they can pass.

Actually with the QB situation being up in the air I'd be surprised if any sportsbooks even allowed you to bet that game right now. I know sportsbook.com has it off the board, I haven't looked around at other places though.

Yeah unfortunately you cant bet on this game right now. It just has no line because of Stocco's health being uncertain. But I swear I read somewhere on here that a Badger fan said they saw him practicing already and that he looked fine. That leads me to believe he'll play, but it obviously hasnt been announced yet, and may not be!

World Sports exchange (that's what I use) is still open for the -9.5. Money line is -400 for Wisc. and +300 for BG, straight up.

NIU was +17.5 pt underdog vs Ohio St, last time I saw.

I agree with most everything MACMAN said except for wanting to start a true freshman. From what I have heard and witnessed, neither Glaud or Sheehan are prepared enough to start against Wisconsin. Freddie has shown that he is ready to take on the roll as a starter. Also, If I had to put the ball in one of the freshmans hand this year it would be Sheehan. He has one hell of an arm and has shown more poise then Glaud.

I'm pretty sure once you play a down, the RS option is gone. Unless a player gets hurt and petitions the NCAA for a medical hardship RS.

The RS option for THIS year would be gone, but could be used next year, just like they did to keep Dan Macon around. He played in more than a couple games in '04, but they redshirted him in '05 to keep him available for two more years. Nothing says that you have to be a freshman to redshirt, it just usually works out that way.

Granted, we could get down the road in a Josh Harris type situation and wish we had another year for one of those guys to be around, but we seem to have enough perceived talent at QB to keep that spot occupied for the next 4-5 years anyway.
