Tremendous article that puts the Meyer/Brandon tenure in perspective.

Man, I wish they had kept Musselman on the UT beat.

"Brandon doesn’t want to see a repeat performance from his defense, not with a spattering of cheeseheads in the crowd."

This is possibly the dumbest sentence I've read since Touchdown Rockets quit posting over here. The Blade should have let the engravers come to work this morning and locked out Musselman...

When I read that sentence yesterday, I thought that was kind of wierd. I think Mussleman was just looking for a reason to use "cheeseheads" in a sentence.

I'm sure this will piss some people off, but Musselman and everyone have handled Brandon with kid gloves in BG/Toledo.

I relayed a story to a buddy of mine, about the 2002 BG-UT game, when Musselman was on the UT beat, and was killing Meyer for the fake punt in the post-game presser. Meyer walked out after a couple shitty Musselman questions.

My point isn't that Meyer was justified in walking out.

It's that Musselman hated Meyer, was on him all the time. He killed Meyer the next day in the Blade for that fake punt call. It would have essentially sealed the game. It backfired, UT won. Meyer admitted it was a tough decision.

Meyer was 17-6 in two years. Brandon has won what he's won with Meyer's guys. He went 6-5 last year, a terrible season, by my standards and everyone else's around these parts.

Yet, he's continuing the program's success?

Ehhhh, I don't know about that one.

That may be true in the media, but there are a number of posters on this board (myself included) who are less than enamored with the coaching job Brandon has done here. If you stick around here, I think you'll find that we're fairly vocal about it as well.

I should have clarified, and I thought I alluded to that in the bottom. But yes, I am a long-time lurker and have read with interest the skepticism of his performance on this board.

Have no fear sir.

And I'm fairly disappointed that's where you stopped readin my post, but no big deal.

And Meyer won with Blackney's recruits. Brandon won bowl games, Meyer did not. Brandon has a couple division titles, Meyer didn't win any.

Just thought I'd point that out.

All the naysayers and all the supporters will have a much clearer view of Brandon's ability as a head coach in about 4 months.

This is his watershed year IMO, as well as his last chance to win me, and I suspect others, over.

Carve it in marble.

By the way, what happened to that fan that no 92 pancaked, J4H? Slam dunk or what! Did he go home in an ambulance, by any chance? I must have spent an hour watching the dude bounce off the deck.

I think that is a fair assessment, J4H.

The kid's banned from Browns' games for life. I also think that he served some jail time on Sunday afternoons.

I believe he had a nice little ride down to the station. I'm assuming he was too drunk to feel any pain.
