Here goes.....
Tuesday, August 22, 2006 Winbush Completes 07 Class for Miami... Nick Winbush, a 6-6 wing out of Shaker Heights (OH) was probably planning on visiting Miami later than today...but with word of the Dwight McCombs verbal a few days ago, Winbush knew Miami was down to one scholarship to give. So like the smart kid he is, he put in a call to Miami asking if he could come to Oxford today to visit. Sources tell me the only thing Winbush wanted before pulling the trigger was to meet the rest of the team (who weren't on campus during his last unofficial visit). I guess Winbush and the rest of the Redhawks clicked, because he gave Miami his verbal before heading back to the Cleveland area. That's three spots filled in three weeks for Miami's staff, and don't discount the fact that they went into Kent/Akron territory and pulled a really good player into their fold....If everything works out with the paperwork, look for ex-CMU guard John Yeazel to wind up at Schoolcraft Community College this year. Yeazel was set to go to Florida before transcript problems prevented it. He's had some interest from Texas and Kansas JUCO's, but it sounds like Schoolcraft will be the place details permitting...One player at Bowling Green that people might be forgetting about is transfer Nate Miller (who's eligible this year after sitting out last season). Ex-BG assistant Artie Pepelea (now at Middle Tenn. State) thinks both Miller and Train Sullivan will give the Falcons a big boost this year in toughness, intangibles, and scoring.
I certainly like the last part of this article. I can't wait to see what they can Sullivan and Miller can do.
