Please tell us what is a good post to make?Lord_Byron wrote:Actually, discussing tOSU this year on the football board is completely appropriate, given the fact that they are an opponent.Falcon52 wrote:Look it happened here. For the love of Doyt!
That, said, the total insipidness of this thread, excepting the love for Grant and his wonderfule website, warrants its deletion.

Sorry, but this is an academic institution and we have other more pressing needs than spending $100-200 million on athletic facilities.Buckeyeskickbuttocks wrote:But, that the fans are taking umberage to "Ohio State's dominance" in the region should be telling your administration to start investing in BG football because people are ready to support it.

I've found this board to be very much like my experience at BG. Everybody's really well behaved when it comes right down to it.
No one at BG ever stopped being my friend when they found out I was a lesbian going through the awkward coming out period and I have never gotten any negative comments from board users.
I love BG and am proud to be a graduate of a school with such excellent peers.

i am going to point out two things..just one this time because i do not feel like getting any further into your bad assessments about everything.MatelaAntwerp wrote:is scary out there on OSU boards. It feels like a bunch of nazis following Hitler. "Everything in the OSU world is right and good and perfect...." They don't disagree...It is creepy. I went on this board...http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/newreply.php
I posted about 20 messages under the name Ted GinnTD. I did not bash OSU. I disagreed with posters. I said the following.
1. Ted Ginn was is not as good of a receiver as Anthony Gonzalez. Gonzales has great hands and snatches the ball. Ginn does not.
2. OSU was uniformally, overated this year. They only have 9 starters returning. I think they will only go 8-5.
3. I started a post that said this "Trivia question"....Has a team ever won more games than the number of returning starters it has? ...That post was deleted.
4. They listed their rankings on CFN and they mentioned the STs and how they were ranked 5th and should be higher. I said you lost both kickers. Someone said that they did not lose their punter. I said that i was confused because I thought the punter last year was Turano who transferred from BG. A few people jumped on me and said they never had a punter transfer from BG. I told them that their statement was innacurate and that Turano was at BG as a kicker and did not make it. He then went to OSU to punt.
I swear that this is exactly what I posted...nothing more nothing less.
I was kicked off the board in a half hour. Banned for 3 days. No lie.
It makes me appreciate Grant, this board, all you guys and even Tankini.
We welcome the mess. And fire back. It is creepy how some of them think. It makes me think of the KKK or something.
first thing, lost two kickers? they lost Houston. that looks like one to me and so WHAT!!!!!???? They have two deadly kickers on the team. one who hasnt missed all spring/summer and the other who has made 60+ yard FG's and has been doing it pretty consistently. I think the kicking game is going to be OK
2nd point, has a team ever won more games than it has had starters returning? umm, i am sure it has. I can not look it up to prove it because it is not a stat that is kept but I would garuntee that it has. If your thinking about asking me to prove it then don't because you can not prove that it has never happened either.
I lied because I am going to keep going....another thing is that they did not lose their punter the punter is AJTrapasso or something like that. He punted last year and he is still on the roster this year.

incase you want to see it for yourself.
last but not least 8-5? even so it will be better than what BG will do...but I think you are in for a huge huge suprise. you will see
Buckeyeskickbuttocks wrote:Well, the way I see it... No team in the country this year is untouchable. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the two teams in the BCS Championship game have 1 loss each. I'm usually a proponant of the "Defense wins championships" idea, and on the face of it Ohio State has problems according to this philosophy.Jacobs4Heisman wrote: Bingo. That's a huge reason why people around here are so prickly about OSU. Most OSU fans like to shove that in our faces every chance they get.
I hate OSU, but I love to talk about football. I'll discuss any football team in the country for any length of time with somebody that can actually have a logical discussion and concede points when they're obvious. I can admit the Buckeyes will probably have one of the best and most talented teams in the country. But anybody with half a brain should be able to see that they also have some serious question marks going into this season, especially on defense. The majority of OSU fans I've talked to can't see that.
Of course, no team loses 9 players and gets better. There will be some growing pains. Fortunately, Ohio State has the fire power this year to put some points on the board, so the D can be somewhat relaxed knowing that they don't have to pitch a shut-out for the team to be successful.
On the other hand, Ohio State's "quick strike" potential could have short term negative effect on the D, because if OSU scores in 2 minutes upon taking posession the D is going to wear out quickly. Long term, the expierence would bode well for OSU's D, but again, short term results could be disappointing for OSU faithful.
All that said, since Tressel has arrived, Ohio State - even in years where the D was "rebuilding" - has had a very stout defense. OSU lost quite a bit from the 02 team and the 03 D was still pretty darn good. The 04 team's problems wasn't D.. and 05 it was obviously the strength. I do not expect that this years D will be lights out, but having watched OSU closely (at least as much as a "non conneted fan" such as myself can) I think the D is going to be better than a lot of people think. I mean, Marcus Freeman, for example - assuming he wasn't injured last year - would have started had it not been for the NFL talent in front of him. James Laurianitis got 2 full games in last year.. that of course, doesn't sound like much, but consider that those two games were Michigan and the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Ame. (Notre Ame's D was missing for sure, but their offense was very good, and Laurianitis held his own) John Kerr was all big ten as a freshman at Indiana...
On the D-Line OSU has been using a system of rotating linemen some 8 deep for so long that the amount of returning starts doesn't really tell the story. They return pleanty of game expierence.
Malcom Jenkins is the next "great OSU Corner" following the "tradition" of Shawn Springs, Antoine Winfield, Ahmed Plummer, Nate Clements, Ashton Youboty. On the other side, there is no proven commodity, but there is much anticipation surrounding what Andre Amos can do (The last time he played CB - he redshirted last year - was in a HS all star game... Mario Manningham was dominating the 1st half, while Amos was playing WR... They moved Amos to CB in the 2nd half, and MM was shut down all but completely. (If memory serves he had 1 catch for like 8 yards against Amos)) Of course, 1 game does not a career make... but, like I said, aniticpation is high for him. At Safety, Ohio State loses a great deal in Donte Whitner being gone. In fact, I think thats going to hurt them more than the loss of Hawk, Carpenter and Schlegal. As great as that trio is, Whitner was one of those guys who simply did not make mistakes. Anyway, Glenville product Jamario O'Neil stands to make a name for himself (Like Whitner and Ginn before him, Jam-O was the #1 DB recruit in his class)
Anyway... the corps is lacking in expierence perhaps (and that fact is important) but not talent... and such is the nature of college football.
If OSU's O wasn't anticipated to move the ball at relative will, I would have much larger concerns about the D, but since OSU should be able to win shoot-outs, the D will be afforded some time to jell.
THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG but the funny thing is nobody cares because everyone hates me....but I have been successful in getting EVERYONE to do what they do not want to do...talk about OSU booyaa

Need I remind you of the SEBO center? Also, not all OSU Fans are "evil" and see, breath, feel, etc. Buckeyes. I've met my fair share of Ohio State students, fans, what have you that are fantastic people. I hate to say it, but I've also met a few students, fans, etc. of Toledo that aren't too bad to be around. (Although I try to avoid them as much as possible

"I said you lost both kickers."
This first statement is one of fact. It says what the author did do.
"Someone said that they did not lose their punter."
This statement is a rebuttal to the inital statement. Another speaker has entered stating that the perceived fact was incorrect.
"I said that i was confused because I thought the punter last year was Turano who transferred from BG."
This sentence describes the initial (first) speakers response to the second speaker questioning his idea presented in the first sentence.
If you look closely you see two key words.
1. Confused
2. Thought
1. Confused in this sentence is an admission of inorrect thinking
2. Thought is a word in the past tense. In this instance it implies something has changed. Perhaps by realizing new information.
Any other help needed let me know.
Is it any wonder that the three OSU fans who posted on this thread all failed to recognize that I admitted I was wrong about the punter situation?
