Time changes
I'm new to the web, so if my question has already been answered, you have my apologies. --- The Whisky game was originally scheduled to be played at 1:00 pm at the Brown's stadium. From my gangs point of view, that was a favorable option, i.e., ten of us were going to caravan. The move to a 7 pm game, however, nixed that. Why the change?? We talked about taking the Falcon bus, but they leave at 2:30 (four and a half hours before the game) and don't begin the return trip until one hour after the game. Even for me, that's too much football, too much hanging around. Also, the Buffalo game is listed on the Web for a 6 o'clock start; my ticket says 3:00 pm. If the ticket time is correct, that would leave only one night game (against Miami) at home. What goes??

MIBGSUFan: Since NONE of us has gotten our tickets yet, it's hard to say...the Cleve. Plain Dealer has OSU's schedule and the BG game is listed as TBA. I'm guessing, based on prior games against the Columbus crew, that we're looking at a noon start....but, as I said, no one seems to know.MIBGSUFan wrote:Anyone have an idea on when the BGSU/OSU game will kickoff? I'm trying to make some plans and wouldnt mind flyin into Columbus/Dayton that morning of the 7th if I can.

Count a 12:00 Noon start, and you are a very smart man for planning on arriving on Friday.MIBGSUFan wrote:Well a noon start would be cutting it too close. I'll just book a flight for Friday night and be done with it.

No offense, but it seems as if you're complaining about the Wisky game being played at nite, then complaining that the UB game, among others, is scheduled for an afternoon start. Granted, the changes came AFTER the original schedules were out, but all of us know that TV tends to "rule the roost" when it comes to game times these days.... I for one, living over 2 1/2 hours away from BG, will be there for games, no matter what time they are played. Besides, how much football is "too much football"?

I swore I saw somewhere that the OSU game was at 3 or 3:30. Don't remember where, but it surprised me when I saw that.
As for the others, I'm cool with the time changes, but then again, I'm just glad to be back watching Falcon football!

I think OSU plays NIU at 3:30 on 9/2. And the Texas game on 9/9 is in prime time.
When the Buffalo game time was changed to 3, it was said it was because the University did not want to conflict with the city's Black Swamp Arts Festival. That may be partially true, but it was really changed to avoid conflicting with the OSU/Texas game.

I think the llive entertainment at the BS was the main reason and OSU secondary if at all.Warthog wrote:I think OSU plays NIU at 3:30 on 9/2. And the Texas game on 9/9 is in prime time.

Works for me, I've got tix to opening day in Cleveland on the 10th, so I'll be going to the Buffalo game, then crashing on the couch to watch OSU and get up at 4:00 AM to start the tailgating all over again...Warthog wrote:I think OSU plays NIU at 3:30 on 9/2. OK, that's the 'official' reason, but we both know the real reason. Do you think the people attending the BG-UB game are more likely to go to the Arts Fest Saturday night or be somewhere watching the OSU-Texas game?MACMAN wrote:Warthog wrote:I think the llive entertainment at the BS was the main reason and OSU secondary if at all.
