First, I didnt mean DD had a alchohal control problem. Im just saying someone has to be held accountable at some point in time when 15 of 16 players leave. period. He brought in these players! I dont post here everyday, but I do care about the schools programs like everyone else. Ladies and gentleman our team sucks and our program sucks. Shouldnt floyd rather shoot jump shots then take shots? Its the whole morale of the program, fans included, (myself included). It is no longer enjoyable to root for this team. Ill always root for them to suceed, but cmon DD has made terrible decision after terrible decision and never accepts blame. Its not Floyd or his drinking, that case happened months ago, and Nate Miller has since been arrested with an actual DUI (DRIVING under the influence) and as far as I know he is currently on the team (give that until this year when the football teams returns to form and we fill Whites LB spot with a re-energized Miller with 4 years of eligbilty... WISHFUL THINKING) Overall the programs slide is a trickle down effect that starts at the TOP.

You said a mouthful in that post, but this line kind of sums it up... I really hate to admit it, but I think you've nailed it here.collegedropout wrote:Its the whole morale of the program, fans included, (myself included). It is no longer enjoyable to root for this team.

Yep -- even when I'm just listening on the radio, I always seem to have a frown or concerned look on my face, even if we're winning.
The fan experience has taken a complete 180 from Keith's senior year up to now.
Roll Along!
Here is what I have put together from various sources. Floyd got his DUI (or whatever you want to call it), had is scholarship taken away, but was to remain on the team. A few weeks later, he was acting like a "jerk", for lack of a better word, and DD confronted him about his attitude etc, and he quit. End of story and good ridance!
He obviously has not learned from his problems, as I saw him at Ziggy's Wednesday night!
GO FALCONS!!

This probably deserves it's own thread, but I think Grant & I have both alluded to it in the past. I know that I saw him at almost every game last year. I went to the games, because I felt as though I had to, in order to keep up my standing as a good fan. But honestly, I didn't want to go to the games last season. We were an awful team, but more than that we were boring as hell to watch.
I still went to all the home games save for a couple. I still listened to almost all the road games on the radio. I followed that team, because that's what I've been doing for pretty much my entire life. Well I've got news for Dan Dakich & crew, there aren't too many fans like Grant & I that will go sit through this crappy ass product just because it's what we've always done. How the hell can you expect the community to trudge across 3 parking lots into a dingy arena to watch a shitty basketball game that ends up in us getting shellacked by even mediocre opposition?
I'll be at all the games again this year, but I'll be honest, I'm not sure how much more of this I can even take. I love BG hoops, and I have for years, but this product has continued to erode over the years, and they keep raising the price. Quite honestly, it would've been more fair for the university to pay us to sit through those games last season.

True enough. Last year was no fun. Let's hope we can get it back, because it was dead last season.ZiggyZoomba wrote:You said a mouthful in that post, but this line kind of sums it up... I think I knew what you meant, just didn't think the association of the word "control" in the same post came across very well. I think the rest of your post here was pretty right on, from the feeling I get.collegedropout wrote:First, I didnt mean DD had a alchohal control problem.

Ok...now I understand why Dan made the transition from selling "senior leadership" as a reason why we could be improved this year to "we're healthy" . Since he began talking up the senior leadership this past spring, half of them (Floyd and Phillips) have exited the program.
I'm really looking forward to seeing any scrimmages this fall...I know they have had a couple that were open to the public in year's past. For at least the second year in a row, I have absoloutely no idea how this team might do. We have a potential MAC POY in Samarco, a really tough kid who can give us some limited minutes in the post (Lefeld) a pretty decent PF in Erik Marschall and a bunch of guys with some strong reputations but little else.
This is Moten's chance to assert himself....take it or take a seat at the faaaar end of the bench.
