BG/UW Predictions

Post by BGSU33 »

I'm going to wait a few days before I make my pick, but the guys up at Wisconsin have already put together some predictions. I'll just say there's more bulletin board material here.

On the one hand the arrogance makes me a bit testy. On the other hand, I have to admit that the MAC hasn't done much since 2003 to strike terror in the hearts of the schools from BCS conferences.

I think we'll lose by 10 pts or so...the 2003 team would have kicked their asses all over CBS...

Exactly. It's just one more reason why I'd love to see a BG win (though I think we're going to come up short). Although, the funny thing is, after we beat Missouri three times in the last decade or so, including back-to-back years in 2001 and 2002, nearly none of their fans gave us an ounce of credit. We beat the piss out of them in 2002 by the score of 51-28 in a game that was never close once it got going. After being dealt their third loss to us, and in that fashion after winning twice before in Columbia, I saw every excuse in the book. I was just talking to a guy from Purdue the other day and the 2003 game came up when BG beat #16 Purdue on the road. Again, more excuses, but it was funny how he kept talking about how good they were that year (and they were that year, they went 9-3), but he wouldn't and couldn't even say that BG was so much as decent. After losing to BG, Purdue went on to beat teams like Notre Dame, Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin and should have beaten Ohio State, but they didn't beat us. And I'm sure to a lot of them, the Arizona team they beat 59-7 that year was "better" than BG was. Always an excuse, even after a win......

Yeah just about none of them see us scoring any more than a FG or two.

Well, we're not even sure what our offense is going to bring and if our defense is anything like last year I can see why Wisconsin is confident. I don't see their posts being any crazier than some of the predictions I see on these boards sometimes.

Most people on the UW board see Omar and most of our offensive weapons gone and remember our defense and believe it's going to be an easy W.

Lets see the "power house" WI won the big 10 last time in 1999, then beofre that it was ....WAYYYYYYYY back...are you tired yet..it long a long trip in the way back Machine to 1962. These guys are no better than a purdue, or NW in all reality. They have 0 big ten respect, kind of like Temple had in the big east.

That said reality is WI will finsih in the bottom 3 of the bigtleven this year. They will beat us by 14 pts, OSU will beat us by 16 pts, and OSU will beat WI by 27. We will score 28 on WI and 17 on OSU, WI will score 10 on OSU. We will be ranked higher than WI in the end and WI will get no bowl.

The Orange in me wants me to believe that if we can score quickly and maintain a lead at the half we will win this game. WI has no heart this year and wont be able to win from behind in any of thier games. They are physically stronger and have more overall depth, but we have speed, we are familure with thier team. WI will enjo¥ two terrible seasons, this and next respectivly.

We can win this game, but we can not win from behind. The lead at the half will win this game for sure.

I totally agree with this post, and I find it ironic at the same time.

Wisconsin should not be proud of what their defense did when they faced off with teams that pulled plays out of the spread offense. Penn State scored a bunch, BG scored a bunch, and Northwestern scored a bunch.

Also, unless they have looked into the whole Big Bird situation, they wouldn't be threatened by a few field goals. Having said that, maybe they have.

Wisconsin has lost a lot.....we have lost a lot. I am not predicting a BG win, but rather I've been dumb-founded with the parallels for a few weeks now.

Go Falcons!

Consider the source.

I bet MACMAN makes a mean turducken, however.

Well seeing how there are 11 teams in the Big10, if a team won the conference once every 11 years they would be right on average. If your team isnt OSU or Michigan you have an even lesser chance of winning it. For Wisconsin to win the conference 3 times in the past 11 seasons, is 2 if not 3 more times than they "should" have won it. As a Boilermaker student and fan I can say that Wisconsin gets a TON of respect from the Big 10. Under Alvarez they were the true definiton of a Big 10 football team. Run the ball, 3 yards in a cloud of dust, win the game with great defense and special teams. I do think BG can win this game, but even if that happens it doesnt mean 0 teams in the Big 10 will have respect for Wisconsin!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Well I have no respect for Wisconsin and I'm in a lesser conference; thus the big ten doesn't care about them either. The logic here in undenyable.
Yeah right girl!
