Hey, I didn't have any problem with 11 points. That implies that the game will be close throughout, and if that happens, we should be in good shape for the rest of the season. I was referring to some of these previous posters who had us going down by 25 and 29 respectively.JohnnySwoop '85 wrote:Dude, take a 'lude..
Loser mentality? for predicting an 11 point loss? The way I see it, only dropping by this much should actually be a good showing and point to signs of competing for the MAC East and the MACC.
11 point loss with a 2nd string qb,, a new backfield, absent one of the primary WR's, and a whole bunch of RS-F or true frsh starters and players elsewhere....with all that and only 11 points loss I'll be charged for the rest of the year!

Wisconsin, and more particularly their fans, do not somehow allow BGSU to retain Div 1 status. I'm sure your next step will be to somehow indicate that MAC school grads are somehow under-educated based on our athletic budget. You're false sense of superiority is unfounded to a obtuse degree.
You were sounding decent until you added that backhanded insult. Be nice or take a hike.

6-6 macman, thats what you think Wisconsin will finish huh? Because we got you guys, W. Michigan, SDSU, and Buffalo thats 4 wins right there. So your telling me we are only going to win 2 more games in the big ten your more full of sh!t then you are dumb. I'll be at the game Saturday so let me know if you want to make a bet on UW going 6-6, I have no price limit on high you want to go so let me know. WHEN YOU SAY WISCONSIN YOU'VE SAID IT ALL

If you are going to just categorically dismiss Bowling Green, Western Michigan & San Diego State as automatic wins, then let's go the other way and count any games against Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State as automatic losses. Then let's consider Purdue, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Northwestern, all of whom will be at least on Wisconsin's level this season and any of these games could go either way.Badger8843 wrote:6-6 macman, thats what you think Wisconsin will finish huh? Obviously I don't know who it is that you don't play this season in the Big Ten, but if you play 6 of those 7 B10 teams I just mentioned, I guarantee you that Wisc will go no better than 2-4 in those games.

Wisconsin will win at least 8 games this year if they beat BG on Saturday and I think they will (see my prediction and reasoning in this thread). Western Illinois at home W, SDST at home W, at Michigan L, at IU W, NWSTRN at home W, Minn at home W, at Purdue ehh lets PU pulls the upset L, PSU at home another dog fight since I have them narrowly losing to PU I'm gonna say Wisky eeks this one out W, at Iowa L, Buffalo at home W. I have them going 9-3, and that is losing one game that they "should not" lose and winning a game that they "should not" win. Even if they lose both 8-4. No way they go 6-6 and I sure hope they win a lot of games, because if BG keeps it close or even pulls one out it looks even better for us at the end of the season!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Why the hell are we even discussing Wisconsin's season beyond Sept. 2? Does it really matter? Quite frankly, I don't give a crap what they do and I don't understand why anyone else does. MACMAN, all you are doing is inviting a bunch of jingoistic Wisky fans to come over here and talk about how good they are going to be this season. Cease and desist.
This game really needs to start fast because a lot of people are seemingly forgetting that the only thing that really matters now is what happens between the white lines on Saturday at 7:00 PM. After this game I wish Wisconsin nothing but the best, but the last thing I think anyone needs to be doing right now is creating unescessary devisiveness between BG and Wisky fans. We should all just get drunk in the Muni lot and enjoy a great game on Saturday. Those of you participating in this should be ashamed of yourselves.

I somehow blame TG.

I hate to admit it but this could get ugly. I see the Falcons on the losiong end 42-13. I hope I am wrong! Either way, I 'll be sitting in the club seats enjoying every minute of it.
Last winter, I was getting absolutely drilled by all of you (except you Hammb) for my roasting of Dan Dakich and our basketball team as they played poor, lifeless basketball night in and night out en route to a 9-23 season. Apparently there was something wrong with criticizing a bad team that didn't look like they gave a rats ass out on the court, just as there is apparently something wrong with thinking we even have a chance of beating a wisconsin football team that barring a miracle won't be nearly as good as last year. I'm just disgusted. Gregg Brandon and the footballers have put up 5 straight winning seasons, they deserve a lot more respect than this.
Did you really just chastise people for chastising you for being negative, and then chastise people for being negative in the same breath?
That's pretty impressive.
IMO, there's nothing wrong with thinking we'll get blown out. Has our defense improved at all? If they haven't grown by leaps and bounds, Wisky is going to put 35 at a minimum on us. Our offense should struggle -- there's no way around that. I hope we can compete, but I just don't think it's in the cards. I'll sure be rooting like Hell for us though. We need the young guys to step up big-time. Hopefully they will.

Passing offense = not nearly as good
Running offense = way better than last year. Dan Macon is a STUD, way better than Lane/a banged up Pj Pope.
Let's not forget that the offensive line will be opening up a lot of holes and be providing great protection for the passing game as they are all back. This will help cover our inexperience at the skill positions to some degree. The fact that nobody has been touting our O-Line at all is rediculous.
Defensive line = push
Linebackers = its rediculous how much better our linebackers are than last year. There's so much more speed in the linebacking core than there was a year ago, and they tackle well.
Defensive backs = we already have one player whos all-american worthy back there, and a few others who are inexperienced. I'm not sure how this will be, but if Smith is a bonefied stud then we are already better than last year.
That leaves only passing offense as being worse than last year, and D-Line as a push. Everything else is better, and I haven't even mentioned kicking/punting.
