I think G does a great job with things the way they are. I don't know the total funding behind this place, but I know he's doing it out of his love for Susie Cassell...errr... BG and also does a wonderful job with charitable donations. The front page of the site says as much. :D

However, if ads were ever to become more of this site than the google adsense (which is a great idea, btw), I'm all about the local angle.

I want to make sure its clear that I think Grant does an absolutely phenomenal job here.

However the Ay-ziggy-zoomba wing at the SEBO sounds nice.

I appreciate the suggestions, but I give to the university personally and the site kind of gives itself to the university cause.

I've always asked for support of "my" charities when considering contributions, and people have been generous in helping out both the National MS Society and the V Foundation for Cancer Research. I'm pretty happy with the way things are.

Most people know those charities are close to me for personal reasons... my wife has MS and my dad died of colon cancer 5 years ago... but if you didn't know, that's the story. To be completely honest, both of those causes are dearer to my heart than BGSU... some may take offense to that, but I would hope you could step back and gain some perspective and see things the way I do. BGSU isn't life and death.... it's my alma mater, and I love it dearly... but losing my dad and watching MS progress in my wife is far more crucial to who I am and what I'm about at this stage in my life than some football or some hoops....

God, I thought for a minute it was BO talking... then I realized you actually had a meaning and made a point. :-D

No need to apologize for putting life before BGSU... this site has brought more people "back" to BGSU than anything, I'd say.

I had a life before BGSU...I have a life after BGSU...hell, I can't even remember too much of my life at BGSU.... To quote Montgomery Burns.."family, friendship, religion...these are the three demons you must slay if you wish to suceed in business".

He didn't include BGSU because he went to a Big 10 school....

Thanks for that... I don't know if it's true or not, but I certainly know it's brought a fair number of people "back..." And that's good for the University and all of us as alums!

Thats very easy to agree with. I really wonder where any of us would be without it? How could I survive in Columbus!!!

Seriously, I am not sure I would have anyone to talk to about BG football.

Grant, I totally understand where you are coming from, and I totally respect it. I'm watching my grandmother go through the horrible effects of Alzheimer's right now, and I would give anything to have a forum with which to significantly donate to finding a cure for this bastard of a disease. You have a very pragmatic approach to life, and it is something that we should all aspire to.

I didn't mean to insinuate that this site is not doing enough for the University - thankfully TG did that for me... :o - the reality is far from that. I'm just the type of person who likes to jump on what seems to be a good idea (boy will that get me into trouble one day!). But hearing your rationale again, I honestly wouldn't be totally in favor of you implementing the ideas that we were discussing for the benefit of the Jimmy V Foundation and the MS Society. And while we're at this, please forgive me for promoting my own cause. If any of you are able, please donate to Alzheimer's research. This is a disease that I wouldn't wish upon anyone - I can't even begin to describe how difficult it is to see someone that you love dearly revert to, essentially, a child.

Sorry to go back, but who in the world thinks burnt pizza (Myles) tastes good?

Oh, and just to let you know, the reason the stadium would serve a pizza like Marco's is simple: Marco's cuts all of their pizza slices the same size. They are also a sponsor to the stadium and program. But yeah, if another place were to invest in a pizza cutter that cuts all of the pieces the same size, then possibly the university could use them.

Oh I know why the university sells Marco's. They're a major corporation and can afford to sponsor the university in a big way. Hence we get to eat lousy ass pizza at all sporting events...sure the slices may be a uniform size, but it's crap.

Myles puts a ton of toppings on, so sometimes it's burnt around the edges. Oh well, it's still the best pizza in the world, and I'll gladly throw away that quarter inch of burnt crust around the edge to get pizza that is 2-3 times more filling than any other pizza place.

Was talking to a manager at Jed's during lunch today. She was talking about possible doing deep fried Oreo's and putting them on the menu. So for those interested, you need to get in there and talk it up. I put in my two cents for ya!

That would make sense. They deep fry just about everything else on the menu!

Sounds cool to me!

Not a real fan of Jed's though. Not really that big on any of their food...the eye candy rocks at the Maumee one though.
