I just couldn't get over how different it was.

Being that the euphoniums are the only section that actually can play the part correctly all the way through, I'd say that and important impact may have been made.

P.S. Its not that the mellos and saxes aren't good enough to play it, The euphs are the only instrument with proper range for the entire chromatic run, which makes us absolutely vital to FF.
the tenor saxes also play the full range of that chromatic...and we've ALWAYS put the space there...cuz we're intelligent....and it sounds like CRAP when you don't...but the euphs wouldn't know ANYTHING about sounding like crap, would they? :P

You all don't play the full range, you come down half-way then jump the octave to finish the run. The ONLY euph who sounds like crap is me (those who can't do, teach), so no, we wouldn't know anything about sounding like crap.

There are a lot of teachers on this board. You just called all of them incapable.

Thanks.

I think he was kidding.... since I'm pretty sure he was also referring to himself.

I was referring to myself. I didn't technically call them incapable; since we are teachers our job is to teach and if we do that well then we are very capable no matter how bad we play. This is something I'm banking very heavily on when I get to the professional worldh :-D

Agreed. And my job as a teacher will be to get my students to say they can as well. The word can't will not be tolerated in my classroom.
