Bleeding Orange...
1. I dont' think MAC football is "inferior" in the sense that you seem to want me to be subscribing to. The fact is, the 'top recruits' go to the "top schools" of which, of 119 D-IA schools there are about 20 of.. give or take. The do that because of the reputation of those 20 or so schools putting players in the NFL.. the top recruits dream job.
2. You seem to fault the "rich" for trying to stay rich. Of course the "Big schools" try to keep what is theirs, for the simple fact that running a school is a business. A lot of schools took the risk on college football. That risk paid off. It didn't HAVE to be that way.. I can invision a universe where College Baseball would be king... and Pepperdine and Fulton State would be "Major players"
3. I stand by my belief that it's "unfair" for "small schools" to now expect a piece of the pie when they refused to invest in football when they had the chance. Miami of Florida was a sh*t school for football before 1983. Florida State was once a Womens college.. don't tell me the system is specifically built to keep BG and the like down.
4. With ESPN running the show these days, and their willingness to accept the MAC in particular (Of note was 03 when NIU beat Bama, etc...) it's really a matter of it all "coming together" at the right time.
5. You talk about conference parity in the Big confs like its purposefully set up to secure the current power base.. when was the last time Eastern Michigan didn t suck? Can you honestly tell me that Ball State is going to compete for a MAC crown? I doubt it. In the MAC, youve got BG, Miami, Toledo and NIU running things these days... yeah, you'll have an Akron from time to time, just like the Big Ten has Wisconsin... but, dont kid yourself about the nature of parity.

You are completely ignoring what I actually said in the post on BP. On BP I said that Ted Ginn is not as good of a RECEIVER. I did not say player. I understadn how that may be ambigious but then I tried to clear it up and thought I did a nice job. I said he does not SNATCH balls out of the air the way that a Braylon Edwards does. I said that Gonzo seems to do that. He seems to be a better receiver. I was using receiver as the action he does not the position he holds. That is ambigious but I went on to explain myself. No one listened.Buckeyeskickbuttocks wrote:Seriously, are you really a moron, or are you just trying to keep the game going here?MatelaAntwerp wrote: Your right that I signed in under a false name. A docudrama
I sign up with the nickname OmarTD and for each of my first 15 posts, toss out my hyperbole that Omar Jacobs shouldn't be the starting dishwasher at Burgerking let alone BG and see how well recieved I am.
I was making hte fact that TedGINNTD was a false name obviously because he does not score TDS. That is funny because Ted Ginn is very overrated....My favorite Buckeye along with Troy, But Ginn should not be getting heisman hype. Thats a joke.
I never said that Ted Ginn was a bad football player on BP. Not Once. What I did is not akin to Omar being on the bench. It would be akin to you saying Omar Jacobs is not the running QB threat that Anthony Turner is. That does not mean that he is not a better overall QB. There are not attributes that any of the Wells boys have that are better than Pittman?

Samuel L called me the other night.....I did not know it was you although I should have realized.....it has been some time. I vouch for his overall character....I can not say I agree with him on where BG goes or that BP is a great forum. I did not witness any discussion in my short, completely unrepresentative time before I was kicked out.....I want back in so bad.....Buckeyeskickbuttocks wrote:Matt says you should see Snakes on a Plane.

To recap - BKB suggests that the MAC is dominated by 4 teams (and now admits he swung and missed on NIU). Bleeding orange says I'm ignorant.
Results - Miami, BG, NIU and Toledo have won or shared 40 championships (For years Marshall won, I counted a division title) in 59 years.
40 divided by 59 = .678
In other words, almost 68% of the time one of these 4 teams wins the MAC.
Can the same be said of the Big 10? Probably. Seems pretty even to me.

I think that is pretty accurate over the last few years. Maybe not the coming years but recent history would make this true, we would have to throw in Marshall too.Bleeding Orange wrote:Again, your ignorance is flapping in the wind.Buckeyeskickbuttocks wrote:

Like I said though, if you sign on as a BG fan, represent yourself as a BG fan, I think you'll see different results than getting banned as a troll.

Well, I was only tangentially involved in all that as I recall. In any case, if you watch the Fiesta Bowl .. and the Michigan game frmo 05, you'll see that Tedward is running much better routes and is becoming a more complete WR. In fact, there was an article in the Dispatch about that same thing today or yesterday.MatelaAntwerp wrote:You are completely ignoring what I actually said in the post on BP. Also, as I indicated, you are making some assumptions about BP without a history to do so. AS I said, there have been a HUGE amount of trolls of late, and because we try hard to keep the trolling down (and that's no new policy) we have been quicker with the trigger. It seems like every day we get some schmuck on there who just wants to start sh*t, and frankly, you fit the bill that day. Like I say, come over and represent yourself and your school, and have the opinions about TG you want to have ... Be prepared to back your ideas up (and I think you think you will be, so that's not the issue) but don't expect people to "see the light" as it were.

In reality on a side note....this weekend I think the line is too wide for the NIU game and too small for the BG game. I would bet both.
