Didn't win, but I was impressed.
We gave them 14 points on special teams, but otherwise hung with 'em.
JB looked good. Very Josh Harris: runnin' it. And his throws were good, too (although he didn't throw it much). He threw the ball better than I expected.
Defense looked better than last yeat (just me?).

I think the game plan coming into the game was to not lose. It needed to be to win. I understand that we were starting a quarterback that was virtually untested, but I think we took the QB run a little too often. If you noticed, when we did throw the ball, it was a good play that caught Wisconsin off-guard.

Thoughts onthe game:
Wi won due to our retard punt formation, slow as heck punter and piss poor punter.
WI earned the win becasue of WI's quallity special teams.
We could have won that game
We should have won that game
We should fire the special teams coach and sending him packing off in his special little yellow bus, loaded with his special teams players from Lot industries.
Our O needs to be Proud of So much
Our O line has balls that drag on the turf,
In Barnes we could, and can Trust...good game, great game.
Our D is play!!! MArked improvement and you all have game I expect we will see alot more of these demonstrated abilities in the weeks to come, great game
We will fall on our faces unless drop that awfull punt formation, and we dont find some guys who can punt and kick ball like men.
we are so close to being a complete package, so dam close

Umm...yeah.We could have won that game
We should have won that game
UW was stopped at the 4 yard line on a questionable spot on fourth down and threw an interception in the endzone. That could have been two more scores.
And if you're blaming your special teams coach for your high school punt formation, shouldn't you at least be happy that it directly resulted in a successful fake punt which led to a TD???

Went to the game, just got home.
D looked like if they ever got any momentum they could be good.
Barnes needs to be on the field in some capacity, he played great, but he cant throw deep.
Macon did very little. Can Barnes play RB?
If Barnes played that well, and Turner is better then Barnes.......
The Special Teams were horrible.
If that was the number one punting recruit then there must not have been much of a class.
Turner can hopefully air it out more.
This team can and should be in the mix for the MAC and have a winning season. Something I did not expect.

The Punt formation has to go, it is absolutley ridiculous to think that lining up like that can give the punter adaquate time to kick the ball. I dont think its the punters fault when he is getting rushed every time that he punts the ball. One was blocked, then the next time he had to purposely punt it to one side to avoid getting it blocked again and then shanks it because of the pressure. We gave them 14 points and if not for that the game may have turned out a lot more different. well atleast, by the way that we played minus the punting, you can pretty much chalk up four wins until we traqvel down to columbeus to battle the "big, bad, buckeyes." to quote brent musberger

I have really mixed emotions about the game and a lot of opinions right now... but I think I'm still too mad to make a realistic post about the game. All I know is it was 7-7 and we had the momentum and were playing just fine until that d*mn blocked punt. Even after that we were still in the game, but screwed it away by even more ST's miscues, and running 456,454,456,876,453 different verisons of the QB draw. I'll be back with a more sane posts in the morning, good night all!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Terrell White did not start...why?
Both our LT and our best corner were injured int he game.
The fact that it was so close speaks volumes. We are rebuilding and should still compete. What will it be like when we are not rebuilding?
What happened to Smith and Nystrom? Long term.
We will route buffalo.

White was in sweatpants when tehy came out for the second half.
Nystrom returned after missing two or three plays.
What happened to Smith? I noticed early in the second quarter he was no where to be found.

I did say for any benfits the Retarded Pf gives us they are not worth it.
Stoped you , you bet, dead cold, your O strugled all night with our D, much more so than last year nothing questionable about that.
Two easy scores off our giving away the farm PF holds no candle to the int, that was good D play.
Not doubting the WI win, WI did win. just figure the game would have been more like 27-21 with out the freeebies from our STUPID PF.
and you can bet your but Ill be heckling our SPec teams all day and night at every opurtunity, its inexcuesable to field a team as competitve as BG;s this year and implent a self destructive punt formation...oh yea I know its great it limits the returns...blagh blagh...it losses games like tonights, more often than a returned punt from a standard formation can or would, period.
WI will have hard long season ,considering poor little old mid major BG gave you all its tonight and just hung around the whole game..A powerhouse WI is not. lbetter than BG? tonight they were, I' ll grant you that. WI wining the Big 11 or sharing in its glory...Sure the day our punter can get more than 2.3 sec of hang time and 15 yards..itll be awhile pal.

Just got back from the game myself:
I wasn't that impressed with how Barnes threw the football. There were some nice passes but also a few that he just plain missed on and a few of his completions were just because the people he was throwing to made some great catches. Our O line looked good. Macon sure isn't very fast. Our punter was not spectacular. #71 was responsible for 25 yards in penalties and that killed 2 drives. Good job!
Defensively, the d-back's tackle well. We got burned a few times. Where were our linebackers? Our defensive line got very little pressure on Stocco. Harris for Wisconsin just shoved the ball down our throat almost whenever he wanted to.
Special teams, well, they need some work. And that's all I've got to say about that!
I didn't think we would win the game going in, however I was encouraged by most of what I saw. If a few things come into place, we could be challenging for the MAC crown this year! However, if we have some injury problems, we could also be a .500 team!

About what I had expected. The defense looked like the same old unit to me. We still don't know how to tackle. We hit but don't wrap up. I can't remember the last time our defense stopped someone on the first contact...they just bounce off our defenders and keep moving forward.
I don't understand our substituting of 3 defensive backs on almost every play. I guess he is trying to figure out who will be the starters once the MAC season starts?
Our defense looked exactly like we did last year against Wisconsin. We never did stop them...they stopped themselves a couple of times. The Badger offense was content to pound the ball on the ground at us. They didn't need to score quickly like they did last year to keep up with Omar and our offense. They could of scored more if they would have needed to.
Because their running game was working they didn't need to pass much. Thus, I really don't know what our pass defense looks like? Mahone seemed to be very active and showed some promise for a freshman.
The offense proved that our strength is on the offensive line. But you can't run quarterback draws all the time and expect to win many games. It was very effident that they weren't going to let Barnes throw down the field. How many times did we run the QB draw on second and long? That wasn't the spread offense we saw tonight. The only reason we were in a spread formation was to create some holes for Barnes to run through. We had no intention at all of passing out of it...other than the occassional 5 yard out pattern.
I hope they open the offense up with Turner. We need to take some shots downfield with the passing game. Wisconsin started getting wise to our miss direction running plays and their linebackers started staying at home.
The special teams were awlful. I have to agree that the punt formation has got to go. Even when it doesn't get blocked at the very least there is some pressure right in front of the kicker as he's trying to get the punt off. That has to be distracting for him. I was also disappointed in the kickoffs. I thought he had the leg to get it into the endzone on kickoffs? Nothing got depper than the 10 and a one rolled out of bounce at about the 20.
We are a young team that showed some promise. I think we can compete in the East. The schedule is in our favor. We can gets some wins under our belt before we hit the important games in the MAC...Akron, Miami and Toledo. But the offense has to open up the playbook and the defense has to improve along with gthe special teams.

According to the postgame press conference White was suspended for the game for disciplinary reasons.Warthog wrote:White was in sweatpants when tehy came out for the second half.

What happened to Smith? I noticed early in the second quarter he was no where to be found.
Smith tweaked his foot late in the first series and motioned to the sideline and came out of the game. It didn't look too serious, I saw one of the trainers retaping his ankle but he never got back in the game.
First off, I want to congratulate Wisconsin on their win as well as wish them the best of luck the rest of the season. Secondly, I feel as though we may have a good BG team on our hands. I don't care that we lost 35-14, seeing as how we looked against, as some have put it, "an elite Big 10 team," we may have the makings of a MAC Championship Contension team. The thing I'm curious is how are we going to play when AT is back at the helm. I haven't seen AT play aside from the few games at the end of the season last year, so for those that know more, I'll just leave any sort of debate to you. I agree with FalconFan with the fact that if everything falls into place where it should, we could be holding the MAC Crown at the end of the year, yet if things fall apart due to injuries, etc. we could also be at the bottom of the MAC. But when isn't it like that? Anywho, this is just a perspective from a Band Member so if you don't want to listen to what I have to say so be it.
