Too late for season tickets?
I think my pops and I are going to be ordering a couple of season tickets for this year if it is still possible. Is it too late now, and if not, where should I get them?

Cool. I'm probably going to be getting the "recent grads" plan. Once I get a job I'll be paying full price for them for the rest of my life, but for now I'll take what I can get!
And really, $39 for four D1A football games? You can't beat that with a stick, especially when tickets for the Miami game are $26 by themselves!

I'm sure good seats are still available.MacGuy wrote:Anyone know how many season tickets have been sold?
The university is *giving* away tickets to faculty and staff for the Buffalo game. Not a good sign for Saturday, I don't think.

I dont think its a bad or good sign.
Buffalo surely was not going to be anywhere near a sell out. The faculty and staff are an audience with an attachment to the program who have disposable income. How many people work at BGSU, want to go to the game and are not students? I think we can afford to give away 2,000 tickets to potentially build for the future. Bring them in, show them a good time and we have potential ticketbuyers the rest of the year.
I think it is a good idea. Not as good as adopting the football crazed counties around Wood into the BG family, but still a good idea.

The University does "Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day" every season. It's not a cause for alarm. It's a good PR thing to do among the faculty and staff.

Why not do this as a sales idea?
You buy 8 tickets, you get 8 free as long as the purchaser can show they are from Wood, Sandusky, Seneca, Huron, Erie, Ottawa, Henry, Defiance, Putnam or Hancock counties. That makes the tickets basically half price and gets large groups more likely to make return trips to come.

Wouldn't this be the same as group rates, which I assume we already offer?MatelaAntwerp wrote:Why not do this as a sales idea?

2 differences....
I assumed that the sales were more costly than the above buy 8 get 8 free. That may be inorrect on my end.
Secondly You would have to show the ID, so that would lead to the larger tie in to those areas. In hind sight I would think that it may be wiser to have a "ticket broker' in each of those cities. Put deals up only for each county that would have to be bought in those counties....Sorry I am formulating as I type and expecting others to fill in the holes.

I believe they are running a deal on tickets for teachers in the local area. My Dad teaches at Perrysburg High school and called me to say that he could get tickets for the Kent St game for 7$. He said that the teachers all got an order form from the school for tickets for that game. Not sure if all the schools in the area got this or just Wood Co.MatelaAntwerp wrote:Why not do this as a sales idea?

It works for me, I'll be saving a couple bucks on tickets and hopefully getting a friend to come up with me, plus my dad.

I picked up the season tickets for my parents and youngest sister (she'll be a Falcon next year...so all 3 of us girls are/will be Falcons!)....Section 13 Row 37. I'll be in the student section yelling at the top of lungs. GO FALCONS!!
