Saturday's Tailgate

Post by hammb »

Bring your appetites ya'll, cuz I got about 14# of pork to smoke :) I just wanted to send out an invite to everyone to stop by the tailgate and grab some food, have a beer, and get geared up for some BG football. I know all the regulars will be there, but its a new season, gotta invite all the newbies. Don't be intimidated, most of us don't bite :)

Lookin' forward to the first tailgate at the Doyt!

WHAT HE SAID!!! I have invited a LOT of people from work, people that don't go to many games. Many are planning on coming now!!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Looks like I'm shooting for 10:30 or so, with an "intermission" at the Sebo tour, then back to get ready for some football!

And Brian, you'll have the good sense to smoke your pork out of the view of children I hope, right?

Just found out that due to some family stuff I will not be getting in until noon or a little thereafter. I will still be bringing the fries and oreos, though, and I hope I won't be too late with them! Save me some pork, hammb! :-D

This is a question for the experienced: has anyone ever had a grill taken before? We're going to be grilling up some food and heading to the game. I'm just wondering if anyone's had problems with them coming up missing before?

Location is the east side of the stadium, the grassy area just to the north of the gravel parking lot. In the corner closest to the stadium. It'd be where the NW corner of the gravel lot meets up with the grass.

Mrs. Zoomba and myself will be getting there after noon sometime. Save us a beer!

The plan is to get out there sometime in the 10:00-10:30 area.

That could be dependent on how long it takes the meat to cook. I plan on heading home directly from work and putting it on the grill ASAP, so hopefully it'll be on before 6:00 tonight. That gives me 16 hours till 10:00, which should be long enough. If it's not done, I won't pull it off till it is, so we shall see.

Bleeding, don't worry we never run out of food :)

Oh it will be cooked enough for safe consumption, that's not the issue. But the goal is to cook it past doneness to tenderness (about 195* internally) ;)
