Agreed. That was hilarious.Schadenfreude wrote:No matter where you stand on Gregg Brandon right now, you gotta admit this is a pretty good line.MACMAN wrote:yea, drop the punter, the punt formation, dont put the punter in to kick Field Goals and for god Sake get a colonospcy to prove the the Coaches head is way up there.

You guys may be joking around about not kicking any more, but I am not. Yesterday we had 7.6 net yards per punt. But we had an average gain per play of 6.8. I think we stand a better chance of going for it on fourth down and maybe keeping the drive going.
Same goes for kickoffs. We had 14.6 net yards per kickoff. I believe our chances are better to just go for an onsides kick and maybe recover it, or just live with a ten yard kick off, just 4 yards less, I can live with that.

Sounds like we're taking the EA Sports video game into real life lol.turtle wrote:You guys may be joking around about not kicking any more, but I am not. Yesterday we had 7.6 net yards per punt. I agree about the going for it on 4th down. Anything 4 yards and shorter I think we should because our OL is so dominant. As for the kickoffs, I think we should squib it to one side. That way we have more protection over there to make a stop and if it happens to go out of bounds, they get the ball at the 35. Not a big deal!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

What's sad is that we supposedly recruited a good kicker and punter, and we aren't letting them execute at all. I've seen high school teams who can perform much better on ST than we ever will be able to. It all comes down to accountability, and the fact is that no one on the BG coaching staff right now wants to take any of it. They can look at the film all they want, but until either someone gets canned, or make the needed personnel moves, expect the same ol' same ol'.

Personally, I would have jumped out of the booth. The sad thing is we made the 2pt conversion during the 3rd OT. Maybe we should have ran that play during the 2nd OT and won by 2!

Excellent post. Why it seems that nobody wants to step up to correct this mess is beyond me. Coaches, please....Fix this mess now. I like Flipper's solutions. You mess up on ST, you don't see the field...period. ST are just as important as O and D>jpfalcon09 wrote:What's sad is that we supposedly recruited a good kicker and punter, and we aren't letting them execute at all. Personally i think Rojas got pulled oout of the registration line by some o linemen and told..ya your our kicker...kid has ZERO ability, not his fault, we had plenty of time to recruit a kicker, and we all know whos fault that is, as is the lame formation, which is more to blam that slowmotion rojas.Flipper wrote:The punter was pulling some double duty because Ellis is a tad hobbled.
Rojas did some PK in High School, so it'snot like he's never done it before.
We ought to just go for two every time and go for it on every fourth down.
Macman, you are way off base there. Rojas was the #1 rated punting prospect in the country when he signed with BG. He has plenty of talent but has to be scared to death back there after what has happened thus far.

Just to clarify...
Miscues were :
1 - Blocked punt for TD.
2 - Allowed kick return TD.
3 - Had FG blocked.
4 - Missed XP in OT. (Blocked?)
Also wondering if Barnes did most of his running from theQB position? Or was he at RB?
