I said it before. We have alot of young players, but our conference schedule is setup nicely for this. We have the weak section up front and can learn during this time. This will give the young players time to gel and learn their positions, it will give our QBs time to get comfortable. Time to fix special teams (maybe). The real meat of our conference schedule is late Oct. and Nov. We will be vastly improved by that point and will contend for the MAC East. Our trip to Akron this year will be the deciding game.
We just need to continue to improve and avoid any upsets. We won last night and that was good. I don't care that we went to 3 OTs with Buffalo, we won. We avoided one of those losses and our young players will be better because of what happened. Take it one week at a time and keep winning even if it is ugly.
Good news is Corey will be back next week. This may help us throw the ball down the field a little more. Which we will need to start doing to compete with the better teams.
I'm with you, Spart. After a day to review the game, I am glad we got out of there with a win. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss ANY day. Back in 2002, people were ripping OSU for winning close games they could have lost...but they were winning. All I know is we're 1-1, 1-0 MAC and in first in the East. Would you like to be NIU right now? What has happened to them???? Or how about UT? Getting beat by 21 by WMU...or Northwestern that lost by 17 to NEW HAMPSHIRE in Evanston? NH, ya know, a 1-AA team???? Colorado lost to Montana State in week one. A week after Florida State beat Miami in the Orange Bowl, the Noles needed TWO TD's in the last 6 minutes at home to beat Troy? It happens...to everyone at some point. Take the win, move on and get ready for FIU>
We put up 571 yards of O....571. Almost 400 rushing. What is killing this team is ST and EVERYONE knows it. I am one of Coach Brandon's biggest backers but this ST mess is pissing me off big time. Why do they continue to play so poorly?????????

And why are we told they will improve but we don't seem to see it happen? The D played a pretty good game last night....holding Buffalo to 240 yards, 105 on the ground. It is the ST....FIX THEM NOW. The coaching staff has no choice in that matter.
On to FIU...have a safe trip down Spart and wish Corey the best. I am soooooo freakin glad he'll be back.
