That is really good for him, but it wont last. Especially with Turner back, Macon playing great, and Winovich showing he deserves more carries.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I'm all for us being 5th in the nation in running. Just not when more than 50% of all the plays run or pass are QB KEEPERS!

As long as the QB Draw isn't getting shut down, why should we stop doing it?

You didn't think it got shut down when we ran it twice in a row inside the 10 with the game on the line?

I got no issues with the QB read run. That play is a staple of the spread option and when done right, it's been very effective over the years. It's the QB sweep out of the empty backfield that needs to go.

Perhaps a better question should be, If we have myriad other rushing options which have proven to be more effective, why should we keep running the QB sweep?

It's VERY possible that we have too much youth and are forced to run a vanilla offense till the coaches are comfortable opening the playbook some more. Yes, some of that falls on the coaches but when you look at the tools we lost I can see why this has been a problem thus far.

I'm not talking about passing the ball. I'm talking about having a more diverse rushing attack. There is no youth other than Barnes involved in our rushing attack.

The offense, including the young ones, looked very comfortable driving the ball down the field for a TD on the first drive running somewhat complicated and different running plays. Those plays and formations that were so successful at the outset were not used again the rest of the game. That's where I take issue.

I agree 100% with J4H. Our 1st drive seemed scripted it was mixed up so well with a variety option type running attack. Then either losing or with the game on the line, we continually run the QB keeper. Damn right I'm going to complain about that!
