Orange Out When Miami Comes To Town?

Post by BGDrew »

I don't want to look too far in advance, but how cool would it be if we could do an Orange Out when Miami comes in November? If we could fill the stands with nothing but Orange it'd look great on ESPN and be very intimidating for a good Miami team.

What's everyone think?

That would be pretty cool, there was a hell of a lot of orange on the west side Saturday and it looked GREAT! One problem is, a night game in November could quite possibly be winter coat weather, which might hamper the orange idea.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I say we do it. I remember a game I attened in '04 when we played Marshall at the Doyt and there was a similar promotion going on. I believe it was called "Orange Onslaught" and they asked all the fans to deck out in orange. I'll never forget that day, I went crazy with the orange and it was well worth it!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

College kids are too stupid to wear coats. I should know, I was one, and I never wore a coat. Orange out could work. Discount orange hoodies at the Bookstore. Market it early.

Very true. I wore a hoodie to last year's Miami game. In the horizontal sleet. At midnight. Never felt the cold until well afterwards. (And no, alcohol had nothing to do with it; I was the driver. )

I think that one home game over each of the past couple years has been designated as an "Orange Out" game with pretty limited promotion. I love the idea, but it hasn't exactly resulted in an all orange turnout in prior years.

I have e-mailed Jason Horn who is the Marketing/Corp. Relations guy for Athletics. I suggest everyone e-mail him at [email protected] and try to get this going. I envision a packed Doyt with nothing but Orange with a nearly completed Sebo.

go on over to Walmart and buy some hunter orange gear, large vests to wear over top your reg winter gear, or buy some hunter orange clothes like jackets and bib overalls...as a secondary use, folks will see as shovel your drive.
