A team that goes to triple OT with Buffalo won't be underestimating anybody. FIU losing by a point to USF (a team that beat Lousville last year) is impressive.I hope you and your team keep thinking that we're horrid and we get underestimated on Saturday

after saturday, I don't think we can predict a BG win by more than a touchdown with any amount of confidence - given that our not-so-special teams can basically keep our opponent in the game when they shouldn't be.
That aside - it's only Monday , too early for predictions and FIU is not as bad as some of us seem to think the are.

FIU is a better team than Buffalo. Buffalo took us to 3OT at home.
Now we have to play a confident team after travelling cross-country. Unless there are some real improvements in play calling and STs execution, we will lose this game.
I hope we get behind early, which forces us to open up the playbook, and then we see the real AT step up and take the offense back to the level we've become accustomed to. CP being back in the lineup should help immensely.

I just realized I know next to nothing about FIU. Could one of the FIU fans maybe give us an idea as to what we might see on Saturday? Offensive and defensive philosophies, key personnel, coaching, etc.
Thanks in advance.

The facts are this: in the last 3 years BG against the spread is:
2-2 as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points
11-12 in all games
9-9 as a favorite
3-4 as a road favorite
5-6 in road games
9-8 when playing on a Saturday
4-4 in games on turf
4-3 in non conference games
don't think you are making much money in last 3 years with those stats. Don't worry. It will even out this year, too. BG will cover the -5 this Saturday.

So we've gone from "the poor house" to "not making much money". I've been betting against Brandon since the beginning of last season. I've made a good deal of money.
I'm not touching it this week if the line is -5. Looks like Vegas may finally be beginning to catch on.

But seriously, we are a very young team offensively. Defense is our strong point. We have a linebacker who is on the Lombardi, Nagurski, Walter Camp, and Butkus watch lists. We also have a DE who is going to have a shot at the NFL along with, I think, a DB. Our TE has NFL written all over him, and our QB may have a shot at an NFL roster. But our OL is young. Our running game has yet to wake up. Our special teams needs a kick in the pants. I think all will be right in the world once my son hits the field.

From what you've said, we may be looking in the mirror so to speak when we come to the Cage. Our offense is young, and our ST also needs a good swift kick in the butt to get going. From the way it looks, it may very well be a game of defense. In our game against Buffalo, our defense picked up where our offense and STs slacked. I wish you guys good luck, but not enough to beat us.FIUpantherMOM wrote: What you might see on Saturday is a FIU victory!!![]()

BGSU 35
FIU 20
The Falcons go right down the field to open the game, but a blocked punt the next possession keeps FIU in it, and the Golden Panthers actually take the lead on a field goal early in the 2nd quarter. The teams then trade touchdown drives. Trailing 17-14 at halftime, the Falcons connect on a pair of touchdown drives in the 3rd quarter to bust the game open. Even another field goal to cut the lead to 8 doesn't help FIU as their defense is suddenly powerless to stop BG's 5th ranked rushing attack. Falcons win it going away as their defense stuffs FIU's offense in the 2nd half after giving up a bunch of yards early.
