Looking for a little info.....

Post by FIUpantherMOM »

A friend of my God-daughter is a 2006 freshman at Bowling Green. TE Lewis Parks. Does anyone know how he is doing, and is he getting any playing time?

I see him in the program for last Saturday's game. He's number 36. However, I haven't been able to tell if he had any playing time. He didn't have any receptions in the past two games, but that means nothing. We have thrown very little to Tight Ends this year so far.

Hope he does well. He hasn't been redshirted, so anything is possible.

Go Falcons!

I'd assume if he's a true freshman this year, he's a likely candidate for a redshirt. The starting TE, Sean O'Drobinak, has proven himself to be one heck of an asset, and we've got a redshirt freshman (Jimmy Scheidler) who's got about the same size as Sean O. Not sure about any other TE's outside those two.

So what you're saying is that you'll be rooting for BG this weekend, then?

Nice try, but I have never met the kid. No, I believe that I will be pulling for my soon-to-be-19 year old baby at FIU. Sorry to disappoint. ;-)
I was just curious to find out how the kid is doing. My God-daughter, who is on a cheerleading scholarship at Hawai'i Pacific University (thought I throw that one in there) asked me about our game with you guys this week. She is trying to fly in to support her friend but most importantly her God-brother.

Coach Brandon was pretty high on Lewis during last year's recruiting reception on signing day. He said that he and DT DJ Young were the kind of big athletic kids that we didn't have in the program previously.

With his size and quicks, I'd love to see Lewis line up at DE. We've had great luck with recruits from Georgia in the pazst...I hope Lewis can continue that trend.

Good luck to you folks this weekend...I don't know much about your program, (we barely hear about our own program up here much less the Florida mid majors thanks to Ohio State and Michigan) but from what I've read you're really starting to put some things together down there. Should be a good game

Lewis is listed as our 2nd string fullback. We don't use a traditional fullback necessarily. He is more of a blocking tight end that lines up in the backfield once in a while in a shotgun, split backs formation. Usually, this player is lining up as a wing and going in motion and then is the lead blocker on our numerous QB dives/sweeps. This "fullback" position is so new to our system it wasn't even listed in our opening depth chart from when camp started in August. Lewis had not played at all so far this year.
