So let me get this straight. You are saying if you aren't with BG you are against BG. And you can not watch or follow, or like in the slightest any college team other than BG. God forbid any BG fans or students, or anyone else have friends that go to OSU or are associated with the University in any way. Why don't we just start calling people from other Universities fascists or infidels too?BGDrew wrote:The BG game was not televised live. It was shown on BCSN on tape delay. There's no reason why a BGSU student would be in Columbus to cheer on BG.It's the Journey... wrote:I totally agree with that. But why label them as traitors?? For all you know they were down there wearing orange and brown and watching BG in a bar.

I don't care if you follow the al Qaeda soccer team. Just don't give my school a bad name by being a dumbass and setting fires. You know the environment you're getting yourself into by being on campus for a big OSU game where riots happen, don't put yourself in that situation and don't join that behavior.

That is something we both agree 100% on. It's as simple as leaving the scene if you see things getting out of hand.BGDrew wrote:I don't care if you follow the al Qaeda soccer team. Just don't give my school a bad name by being a dumbass and setting fires.
And I could get into a car accident by driving down Court Street on my way to Spots. Just because something MIGHT happen should not stop anyone from attending an event. Dumb people could get drunk in a bar and start a big fight. That does not mean I will not go to that bar. It just means I should know when to put myself out of that situation. You know the environment you're getting yourself into by being on campus for a big OSU game where riots happen, don't put yourself in that situation and don't join that behavior.

It shows once again the people I deal with on an everyday basis. What possible good came of posting there were fires lit in Columbus after the Texas game? Seriously, was that for anything other than trying to one up OSU?So now no talking about other schools int he other schools forum?
And I am sure he is being dealt with appropriatly. What does that matter up here at BG?By the way the guy who hit the battalion chief was an ex OSU cheerleader.

I was in Wilmington, Ohio cheering on the Falcons. Why couldn't a student be in Columbus cheering on the Falcons?BGDrew wrote:There's no reason why a BGSU student would be in Columbus to cheer on BG.

the only thing that it shows is that YOU metalantwerp, can not stop talking about OSU. Your the culprit who keeps giving me reasons/chances to speak.MatelaAntwerp wrote:It's the Journey... wrote:It shows once again the people I deal with on an everyday basis. For the record, the same thing happen in Athens at Halloween. Over 200 people will be arrested, but only 50 will be from Athens or OU. A few years back over 50 were arrested after one of the OSU games and only 10 were OSU students.
I will say that since OSU is not in school, most of the trouble makers of this past weekend probably weren't OSU students. Of course, the paper hasn't come out with who was arrested, other than a former OSU cheerleader who was drunk and ran into an Assistant VP at OSU. Nice one there.
Where the authorities (OSU and city of Columbus) may have dropped the ball is in thinking that there wouldn't be any "celebratory response" to a win. In the past when school has been on break (i.e. Fiesta Bowl in 2003 and 2006), students weren't in town, and the years when the Michigan game falls on Thanksgiving, there are very few, if any problems.
For those of us in Columbus, the fires/riots are becoming an embarrasement. They are not reflective of the community as a whole, nor are they reflective of the University and its alumni as a whole.
It has happened at BG, Oxford, Toledo, and Ann Arbor (is a whore) in the past and it will happen in the future. Sadly.

they were expecting some kind of celebration, thats why they had a command post set up at the student union. It is right outside of that where the former cheerleader ran over the officer and his wife.
second is that he was a FORMER cheerleader and I am not even sure if he was still a student at OSU. You ever think that maybe there was a reason for that?
Third, he is right, I have heard reports that a lot of the people involved werent even students. some were, some were not from OSU. I have heard that some fires were caused by older people 40 somethings with no life.
OSU has made admissiopns much tougher and more strict, that will reflect in improved behavior. The city is working on some ordinances to make these actions all Arson charges which makes it a felony and mandatory 1 year prison sentence. If that passes it will help.
