Your defense is nasty? Well, they'll have to be if you guys intend on keeping us at 13 points. We've only been held to that low a total one time in the last 2 seasons, that was against Wisconsin two weeks ago. I don't know much about FIU's roster other than they have a pretty good linebacking core, so maybe that will be tougher for us to exploit. Who knows, should be a good contest at any rate.FIUGonnaLose wrote:FIU 27

Our defense is just nasty. I'm counting on our running game waking up for this game, passing game is always effective. Looking for our 1st out of conference win and it's our home opener. Should be a good one.
Hope I am wrong, but I think we might be a little flat after having an emotional, physically and mentally draining 5 hour + game. And having to make a long road trip won't help. I just have a bad feeling about this one.

Man, some of you guys just have no faith whatsoever in this team...Warthog wrote:Hope I am wrong, but I think we might be a little flat after having an emotional, physically and mentally draining 5 hour + game. What's very strange about this matchup to me is (because I think it's going to be a close one), two short years ago BG was coming off yet another season where we were ranked in the Top-25, and at that same time, FIU wasn't even playing D-I football, it was still in I-AA. If we don't hurt ourselves with mistakes and turnovers like we did against Buffalo, I think we can come away with a win. If we don't improve from last week, we'll get beat down there.
BG - 25
FIU - 24
BG - 25
FIU - 24
GO BG!!!
I have tons of faith in this team. I just don't like how the intangibles are stacked againstus in this game. I know we can win it, but I just think the long game last week and the long road trip will have an impact this week.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Man, some of you guys just have no faith whatsoever in this team...Warthog wrote:Hope I am wrong, but I think we might be a little flat after having an emotional, physically and mentally draining 5 hour + game. When was the last time we lost a road game? Against Boise State last September? I think you'll see this week we will really come out and play great, we always do on the road moreso than at home. Just look at the differential between the games last season on the road (ie: beating the pants off of Miami, winning at Kent w/o Omar, creaming Buffalo.) and home (losing to Akron, losing to Toledo, having Omar go down and the team quits against WMU)Warthog wrote:I have tons of faith in this team.
