Keon is starting the Fall @ SS. But that's not final. Coach Brandon says the team is seeking the four best players. For example, if Arnold and Carswell excel @ safety, than Keon goes to CB. If Jordan and Mayberry step up @ CB, then he goes to safety. Right now, its Jordan, Mayberry (CB) and Keon and Carswell at S.
Captains are Burkes, Mrurz, Cole and Thaler (a junior).
Steve Navarro is recovering well, and everyone is encouraged.
The first official news of Jason Washington is in. 6-2, 200, he played at Long Beach City College and threw for 1,750 yards, 11 TDs and ran for 350 yards.
Practice starts Monday.
Finally, on bgsufalcons.com there is an announcement of a public scrimmage on 8/22 at 7 pm.

Steve Navarro
Ahhh yes. I haven't given a Steve update in awhile.
He is basically completely physically recovered. His speech is still somewhat affected, but is at about 80% and improving. There is a very good chance that he will make a full recovery.
He plans to return to finish his degree beginning second semester.
As I understand it, there is no real chance he will play football, but who cares. That's not what's important in this situation.
He is a very lucky man.

Re: Steve Navarro
able1 -- thanks for the update! Any idea whether Steve will be able to make it to BG for any of the home games this year or at NIU since he's from near Chicago?able1 wrote:Ahhh yes. I haven't given a Steve update in awhile.

Re: More Sentinel Updates
interesting that's how it shook out. the schedule poster shows keon, not thaler, and the other three. there's not indication that the photo is meant to show the team captains, but i guess i just kind of assumed that's who they are. congrats to thaler for being granted a huge leadership role as a junior.orangeandbrown wrote: Captains are Burkes, Mrurz, Cole and Thaler (a junior).
