Toledo Blade's Maureen Fulton reports that there were about 1000 orange fans at FIU last night. Is this true? Maybe BG should consider relocating its stadium to Florida.

In her notebook, Maureen notes that one of the fans there was Gary Blackney:

I didn't see this, but Blackney retired as Maryland defensive coordinator at the end of last season.

Maybe we should have a former coaches day and bring 'em all back and give 'em some kind of recognition.
Blackney, Moe Ankney and Don Nehlen are all available.
Anyone know what Denny Stolz is up to? Is he still alive?

He died in December 1985. With his pants down.Schadenfreude wrote:Anyone know what Denny Stolz is up to? Is he still alive?

That number of fans does not surprise me at all. We may not always get 25,000 in the Doyt to create a huge homefield advantage, but we almost always seem to have a good road crowd to minimize our opponent's home field advantage. I'm sure that it makes it a lot more comfortable for the players to see some orange in the crowd.

They may have been counting tickets sold and not actual butts in the seats. I think we had a discussion on the two ways schools can use for attendance numbers somewhere, but I don't remember where.BGSUfalcons wrote:I thought that FIU's stadium holds only 17,000. With all of those empty seats, how do they come up with 15,000+?

Looks like captains for BG are at midfield awaiting FIU's, so it could be before game started. Lots of folks mosey in late. Or at half and everyone already left to start drinking.BGSUfalcons wrote:I thought that FIU's stadium holds only 17,000. With all of those empty seats, how do they come up with 15,000+?
