next year squad

Post by bigdog »

Does anyone think next years team will actually be able to post a winning record? The staff on this team needs to do some serious housecleaning before the players will be able to reach their full potential. There needs to be some change in the leadership, that means starting at the top and trickling down to such aspects as having Brandon Svendson as assist captain.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

IMO, the house cleaning took care of itself last spring...

BigDog I'm not with you......

There are FIVE captains, Michael Hodgson (C)Jonathan Matsumoto (A), John Mazzei (A), Rich Meloche (A) and Brandon Svendsen (A) for 2006-07.

This is 25% of the players on the bench and if we cannot find a leader from this group then we certainly will have a problem. It's early in the season and if history is any indicator leaders are born not appointed.Have no fear "the boat will float", it's the rudder that will be needed.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back now and then to make sure it's still there.

So who isnt a captain? Can a team just name as many captains as they want? I have never seen more than one capt. and 2 assts.

I disagree with this approach, naming this many captains defeats the purpose if everyone gets to be one.

Given the whining that went on last year with no assts....

I kind of like it.....a "rule by committee" type of situation.

i am sorry to say but just becuase you name 5 guys captains doesn't mean there is going to be more leadership. It isn't the lack in leadership from the players that needs to be looked over, someone really needs to look at the coaching. It is time for a change!!!

What is your problem with the coach?? Did you get cut or something? He is just now getting his own recruits on the ice. If you expected Meyer like results from him immediatly then you need to follow another sport because that doesn't happen in hockey. So why are you so against this coach? And I would like your personal views with back up, not just he isn't getting it done or something like that!

I love it when dumb jock wanna be's have no substantial evidence to root their claims in and have to attack someone for having a little bit of culture. But since we are in this whole conversation I have some more questions for you.

1. Have you ever played hockey?
2. When did you start following Falcon hockey?
3. How many players have you talked to? (number, not names)
4. If things are this bad why haven't the players gone to someone?

Lets start there.

First of all go play the flute or something instead of pretending to know something about hockey. I am not going to tell you how i know the team but i can say that i am good friends with everyone in the dressing room. Dressing room- The place where athletes go and change for practice or games! Just trying to let you in on a little athlete lingo. Not sure if you would have been able to pick that up from bandcamp. Maybe you should check the letters and complaints that are sitting in the AD's office. AD- Athletic Director- sorry more athlete lingo. There have been many complaints filed to the university. Thats why i said he was a good PR person, because even with all the complaints he still somehow has a job.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA Now thats funny. I haven't heard that many negative and wrong stereotypes in a long time. Thanks for that. Once again, thanks for the "lingo" lesson but I can assure you I know all of that and more. I have worked with several athletic teams in my time. But since you must defend yourself by degrading me, continue. I am sure I will get a good laugh out of it. But to clear things up a bit for you since you don't seem to know much about music. Flutes are not found in a choral ensamble like your previous post indicates. They are in a band or orchestra. And choirs do not go to band camp since they are not a band. Just so you don't look silly next time. If these complaints are as serious as you indicate then perhaps they should be brought out into the open air. When did the team elect you as their official speaker?

I am done fighting with you, you won't understand. I am also done with chirping you as you use words like ensamble, no more chirps needed. The whole idea of this was to open people's eyes and hopefully help the players that are under this current coach. None of them are going to speak up due to they will not play anymore so i thought some one should.
