As far as MU kids supporting the football team, I can't get into specifics because I'm really lazy. What I know is I go there once or twice a year and the kids don't turn out to the extent one would like. Even during the Ben R. years there was always plenty of room on the student's side.
But then again I may be looking at it wrong. If the student side seats 7 or 8k and it's half full, that means that 1 out of 4 or 5 students did show up which is pretty good.
As for the MU team: they were really, really bad on offense. They had a lot of procedure type calls and were not crisp at all. RB Murphy is really good but the QB Kokal has yet to impress anyone, thus no one knows about their receivers.
KSU deserved to win by an even larger margin, but again, ST is a huge factor. KSU missed two kicks and MU fumbled a punt. BG, and every team expecting to beat stiff competition, needs to be solid, not spectacular, on ST.
Go Falcons!

I'm not going to get into the hundred things that got in the way of Miami fans going to teh game this past weekend...
blocked roads through the main entrance north of Oxford as your drive in...
the 500,000 people at Oktoberfest...
yada yada yada... the product sucks so people won't come out... simple as that...
show me a winner... and I'll show you 20K fans...
as for how bad or how good Miami is... its hard to say... lots of talent, but no one to lead them.

Nearly 1/2 of the student side was filled in HS bands there to perform during Band Day.Schadenfreude wrote:Only 10,486 bothered to go.
Makes me feel better about our issues.
The West stands were also light. Again very sad. It was beautiful here in SW Ohio yesterday.
I will say, if anyone gets a chance to come to Oxford to watch a game, I would like to hear your comments on the student stands and concessions. They are fantastic.
I haven't been down to Oxford for a game since 2000 but back then I was way impressed with Yager's setup. I can only imagine how great it is now...it looks fantastic on TV.
