Omar a Titan?

Heard from a fellow alum in Nashville. He indicated that Omar may soon be a Titan with the Volek exit.

Anyone else heard this?

I found a snippet somewhere on the web that it's between Omar and Kent Smith.

I found some chatter on then Titans board about Omar being a possibility. Right now they don't have anyone behind Collins and Young...not even on the practice squad. I wonder who's running their scout team that simulates the opponents offense each week?

I can't imagine an NFL team with Collins as your starter (a serious dud) and then have Young and Omar as your back-ups. Young and Omar are very similar in their struggles with an NFL offense. Young can make more plays with his feet while Omar can make more with his arm.

Too bad Omar will be starting over in some sense with a new offense and new terminology. But, he's in the league. At least he'll have some NFL experience under his belt.

I wonder if they would sign him to ther roster or the practice squad?

Kerry Collins is far from a serious dud.

Consider the fact that he was at home on his couch two weeks before the season started and without even knowing the offense stepped in and competed with the Jets in week one. Think about that. Every other QB has has atleast 6 months to digest a play book and get timing with receivers. He had two weeks.

I think Collins is better when he doesn't know trhe offense. Seriously, Collins is one of the worst QBs int he NFL in recent years. He quit on the Panthers and then wasn't even serviceable in NY and Oakland. Look at his TD-to-Interception ratio over his career.

Okay that's about it.

Omar's going to be on somebody's PS at the least at some point this season. He showed waaaaay too much potential to be stting at home.

It looks like it won't be the Titans. They sign matt Mauck. Omar's tag right now is he can't learn an offense quickly. That might keep some teams away, since he probably wouldn't be a legitmate option should injuries occur. He needs at least a year in someone's sytem to feel comfortable with the playbook.

Ummmm....Collins did go to a Super Bowl with the Giants and an NFC title game with the Panthers in their second year.

I wouldn't consider Rich Gannon an average QB. But I agree that Kerry Collins is nothing special.
