This also marks the first matchup with our friends up North of the 2006-7 athletic season since the BG/UT CC dual meet on 9/1...BG women won but the men did not. So, that's 1-1.

Saturday, BG tuns right around & hosts league power Ball State at 4pm. A couple notes on BG:
Offensive Juggernaut
Falcon fans can find BGSU at the top of the MAC rankings in every offensive category. The Brown and Orange own the highest hitting percentage (.280) in the conference, a whopping .28 points higher than the next best. Bowling Green's 16.76 kills and 15.40 assists per game averages slot them in the top spot as well.
Stingy Defense
The Falcons are excelling defensively as well in their first twevle matches of the `06 campaign. Junior Stephanie Swiger's 1.39 blocks per game are the most in the MAC, aiding BGSU to the second most team blocks in the conference. Bowling Green ranks second in digs (18.07/game) as well. One of us on this site is kicking tail!!!!
Coach Van De Walle has a pretty solid team this year. Of BG's 10 wins, 8 matches have been won 3-0 or 3-1...One loss was to Notre Dame, who I believe is ranked. The other was 3-2 to Cleveland State a week and a half after BG had beaten the Vikings in BG. And, Chrissy Gothke is the lone SR on this team.
I'm looking foward to seeing BG in action @ Akron, Oct 21, and @ Kent State on Nov. 11th. BG football isn't in action either weekend and it would be cool to get some Orange & Brown at these matches.GO FALCONS!!! BEAT UT!!
