Yup, Thunderstorms and rain in the forecast, 77 degrees for the high on Saturday, 70% chance of rain as a huge storm system moves through the midwestern United States bringing rain and storms, some of them could be severe. Not only rain, but also a chance of lightning delays again.BGSU33 wrote:Bring your rain gear.....again. It's going to be wet on Saturday.....again.
Now here's the fun part. With the 1pm start, I guarantee you will have some students playing the "its too early, I was still sleeping at 1" card for not going to the game. Now with the weather mixed in to throw out a bunch of the townies and alumni, what do you suppose the attendance will be Saturday. If its higher than it was for Buffalo, that'd have to be a victory. BG fans need to realize that the ideal situation of good weather, late afternoon start time, and good quality opponent just isn't in the cards this year and get to the game anyway.
Mother nature is not a BG fan, nor is she a fan of BG fans, either. While you joust with God's wrath, I'm off to the North Atlantic in a couple of hours to see what the back end of Hurricane Gordon looks like.
What do you do with your friend who owes you 20 quid or so, and proposes to pay it back in kind with a ticket to a concert you aren't interested in, or a trip to the arctic circle in the windy season?
If I wasn't lumbered with a Scottish ancestry, I'd have lots to say about Scotsmen and their money habits.
Good luck with the game, ladies and gentlemen. As Churchill said, "the nation expects..."!

Hey, if you told me I owed you 20 quid, I'd probably be sending a large plate of calimari your way, so it could be worseZom wrote: What do you do with your friend who owes you 20 quid or so, and proposes to pay it back in kind with a ticket to a concert you aren't interested in, or a trip to the arctic circle in the windy season?
I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if the attendance was even close to what it was for Buffalo. That was our home opener, and usually brings a lot more attendance than subsequent games. BG fans won't realize that a quality opponent, with ideal weather and ideal start time isn't in the cards. We just don't have enough fans that care enough to shrug those things off and attend anyways.
1:00 games should never happen. MAYBE for homecoming or something, but for us to not have a single night game this year at the Doyt? *BLECH*
I absolutely, positively, from the very bottomest part of my heart H-A-T-E DAY GAMES!!!
Chance of rain during the game is 50%. The glass is half full! That means there is a 50% chance it will not be raining with a high near 80. That is great late Sept football weather!

We don't have any Saturday night games, but we do play Miami at 7:30 on a weeknight.hammb wrote:1:00 games should never happen. MAYBE for homecoming or something, but for us to not have a single night game this year at the Doyt? *BLECH*
I feel your pain regarding the day games, though. I can't stand them and the poor weather forecast will make the stands pretty empty tomorrow IMO. I hate to say it, but if this weather holds, I will be pleasantly surprised to see 10k tomorrow.
My bad, I forgot the Wednesday night game. My feeling for weeknight games is even lower than it is for day games on Saturdays. For that particular game I'll be in Las Vegas anyways, but I don't like the weeknight games because they're a pain for those of us that have to work till 5:00.BGGrad01 wrote:We don't have any Saturday night games, but we do play Miami at 7:30 on a weeknight.hammb wrote:1:00 games should never happen. We are slowly starting to build a pretty decent tailgate culture at BG. Playing games on weeknights or early afternoon is counterproductive to that. Now maybe the athletic department doesn't care about tailgaters, but the more people that can make a day event of tailgating and attending the game the more people you'll draw into the game. I realize the weeknight games are for TV, so I guess I'll make that concession, but any Saturday game earlier than 3:00 or 4:00 is annoying.
