Well, seeing as the only person predicting a KSU win is Shakrocket, it appears that we are finally gaining some collective optimism on here. It was depressing to see some of us calling for a loss against Florida International last week.

BG 42
Kent 24

This game will be like the Buffalo game in that the special teams gives up a touchdown on the opening kickoff for KSU. But that's the only time they lead all day, as the BG running attack torches Kent's awful run defense all day. The OL opens up huge holes, even though we just ran our 25th QB sweep of the day. Down 21-10 at halftime, Edelman gets KSU back into the game, leading the Flashes on their longest drive of the day, ending in a touchdown. But BG goes back to the bread and butter with Macon, Winovich, and Barnes running the ball. Kent's defense by now is sucking wind from how long they've been on the field, and they get pounded the rest of the game. BG wins it going away.

I was at the Miami/Kent St. game last Saturday. Kent is a high-energy team, and they dominated Miami in every area of the game. Their QB is extremely mobile, and they've got some big-bodied receivers (think Ruben Ruiz). Still, I don't want to give them too much credit - Miami is pretty awful this year.

Kent State 17

Offense struggles after a first drive TD, but the defense holds us in until the 3rd when our boys take control.

No call on a score, but look for someone to have three picks... Kent likes to be generous like that with us. :-D

BG wins - no call on the score. Like Dan Dakich says - a win is a win.

No dis on Kent because they are improving. I watched most of the Miami/KSU game and thought Miami has serious trouble this season. Kent's QB is a good one. But they can't stop the run and our D is turning up the heat. ST's are getting better.

BG *should* be able to run the ball all over the Flashes. I'd come out throwing like the FIU game just to mess with their heads even more.

Close 1st half as Kent plays on emotion...BG dominates the 2nd half with better talent and a better team.

BGSU 31, KSU 16.

Another 30+ points for BGSU. The Defence swamps Kent and puts up at least 14pts on the back of turnovers by an abject Kent O. SI.com power rankings pitch BG at 69 this week, Kent at 101. Next week BG marches to 52 aided by Wisconsin who, poised at 25 this week, pulls the shocker of the season by pancaking Michigan at the Big House and earning a top 20 slot.

It stands to reason.

We've scored a touchdown on our first drive in the first 3 games. That will continue this week. But Kent will hang in there. AT will see limited action and this won't be a real high scoring affair. Antonio Smith gets a pick six to seal it, BGSU 27 KSU 17
BG TD's- Barnes (2), Partridge, Smith (yeah that's 4 TD's, we miss a PAT)

BG wins, but not by much.

The Day of Reckoning temporarily postponed.

I had a dream last night that we were up on Kent 14-9 late in the fourth. Most of us left to go back to tailgate.

Kent scored a TD in the final 10 seconds of the game via a 20 yard post pattern splitting the safeties.

Me suddenly got a bad feeling about this game.
