BG football on the demise

I have mixed feelings about the team this year. I was at the Wisconsin
game and I felt that we were a good team that would be able to win
some games this year. However, after the Buffalo game I started
to doubt my earlier prediction. I am shocked we lost against Kent
today. I guess I should not be. There was a time when we were a feared
offense whenever we took the field. This is not the case today. I maybe
wrong, but it seems that Greg Brandon has been found out to be impersonating a head coach. Was he winning off of Urban's players?
This is for you to judge, but I do believe that is some of the problem.
Our program was in a rebuilding year, so losses are to be accepted.
However, with our upcoming schedule looming, it is clear we could
lose every one of our games. Yes, and that includes Temple. In a
short period of time, what has happened to out top 25 program?
A good program should be able to regroup and win. I hate to admit it,
but Toledo should be the type of program we should be emulating.
I am tired of the excuses. Our team last year was a good indicator of
what the future would be like at BG. I hope I am wrong. But my prediction
not only is this a rebuilding year for BG, but the beginning of our losing ways of the late 90's. A change should be in place. I am a loyal fan
and want the Falcons to win. However, this loyal fan is a realist and
this realist sees our program falling by the wayside.

Wow!.............I am the biggest fan of our coaches and have given a lot of props to Greg Brandon and DD (and I still love DD), but today was a total embarassment that has to fall soley on GB. I understand we have a young team, but to get absolutely whipped on our home field by a team of no talent ass clowns is ridiculous. I feel a hammb type of negative bullshit rant coming on, but I'll save it for someone who cares. Where do we go from here? I thought I would NEVER join this negative bandwagon that everyone has created here, but I think GB needs to go and NOW. 3 f***in points against Kent State!!! What the f**k!!

I think today has made it pretty damned clear that no one has "created" a "negative bandwagon" around here. A lot of us just chose not to hop on until it was too late. But, now that we're on, could someone please ask the attendant to bring me a beer?

I was totally stunned by the way the Falcons played yesterday. Kent came into the game with a lot of momentum with the added incentive of thinking that they really could beat Bowling Green. BG's game plan did nothing to counter their inertia. The fact that Kent hadn't won in Perry Stadium since 1972 should alerted the BG coaching staff and the players that there was a formidable force waiting for them on the field of play. And what was BG's game plan --- the same as it has been. On first down, Barns does a little fake and runs up the gut. Well, it worked against Whisky, but doesn't the BG coaching staff understand that other teams see all of this on film and prepare for it. They ran that play on first down through the first half and they got now where with it. Conversily, the Kent State crew threw a neat razzle dazzle at BG -- a reverse on the first play of the game. It was successful -- a 79 yard touchdown scamper. What happened to all the razzle dazzles BG used to run like that double pass that beat Missouri and Toledo. They say the a sign of insanity is to keeping doing the same thing anticipating a different result. Overall the BG team didn't execute today and the BG coaching staff is responsible. Where is their sense of creativity, their innovations. I'm just a fan, but I could predict almost everything BG was going to do yesterday --- and really, I shouldn't be able to do that. I don't know who the offensive play callers are, but they really should step down -- they suck! It's that simple.

oddly from a historical view, when football falls from grace, hockey goes on the rise....be interesting to see if that is the case.

Check out the women's volleyball. They've won their 8th straight match! They dominated not only the "institution" up north, but came back to clobber the Cardinals. Attendance was pretty good this weekend, but I'm sure they could use some more fans in the seats when they play Miami at AA onthe 27th Sept. 8)

Falcon Volleyball..mmmmmmm I may just have to check em out, seriously. I need to find a falcon team than can win. I'm praying that women's basketball season comes soon. I just hope my head doesnt' explode before then.
