Yeah I just took a look at MiamiHawktalk.com. Kind of what it's like over here but not as many threads devoted to the same topic.

OK, in an effort to keep our mods sane, here's the deal. You guys can vent spleens all you want; if you sat through that game, you certainly deserve it. Here is all I ask:
1. Keep it focused on the game and season to date.
2. DON'T make it personal against players, coaches, or other posters.
3. If you're going to advocate firing anyone, please recommend a feasible funding source for buying out any contracts.
4. Try and be constructive.
5. Keep the hyperbole about being He Who Must Not Be Named Part 2 to a minimum.
Thanks.

No offense, but it's not our job to find the funds to do it. That's what the people in charge get paid to do. Our job is to support the teams and the university. I have no clue what's going on in our athletic budget's bowels and neither does most anybody one here. We're fans, not accountants. I know we're poor, and I doubt we'll see Brandon gone before his contract is up or he resigns. I'm sure as hell going to do everything in my miniscule power to see him gone though.Tricky_Falcon wrote: 3. When Brandon acts the way he does, namely in his relations with the media, he embarasses me as a BG fan and alumnus. I think I'm more embarassed by his interview with 1470 last year and his continual player-bashing than I was by the game yesterday. And that's sayin' something.
edit -- reread to see Tricky just pulled that from MHT -- my bad.
Oh well -- we'll just call this a preemptive in case somebody around here wanted to pull that card

Shut ya Face OB!
OB, go dress up for halloween. Thats the only thing you have to look forward to every year right? Seeing OU on the schedule every year takes me back to my freshman year here at BG...I think I remember a fairly uneven victory, BG 72-OU 21. Can you count that high OU? When was the last time OU beat BG? Were you even alive yet? Talk to me when you win... which you will because, as you have so intelligently enlightened us, we are really REALLY BAD. Go do your long division homework OU boy!

easy now...
Destroyer,
C'mon now...play nice. I know, I know...he shouldn't have started this thread. Truth is, it's been a long time since we've been competitive with the BG's, Miami's, Toledo's etc of the world. Even though we come into this game 2-2, I think finally Ohio has something to be excited about. This team has a chance to make some noise in the East race this year. Honestly, it seems as if BG is going in the opposite direction of Ohio; starting to slip as we begin to climb. Disregard his ignorance in starting the post, he's just a little excited that this year we have a shot. I wish that both teams were looking up, it would be nice to establish a competitive rivalry, something we have lacked recently in conference play. All in all, here's to hoping for an injury free hard fought game. Good luck.

Good post, bud. It's nice to see a respectful Ohio fan every now and again. I share your sentiments for the game. A good showing and no injuries is a good day.

Thank you bobcatgrad. Reading your post I immediately started to think about how warmly I was welcomed by Ohio fans when I was in Athens a couple of years ago. Since then, unfortunately, my impression of Bobcat fans has been colored largely by Ohio Bobcat and a couple of other posters, and I have unfairly characterized all Bobcat fans in their image ever since. Even thought that impression hasn't ammounted to much action in any way, I am still sorry for it. I do appologize for feeling so, and I feel like a total moron, quite frankly, for having those feelings as I begin to contemplate my trip to Athens this weekend. I can't wait to visit Athens this weekend, and I can't wait to see what I hope to be a very hard fought game in what I consider to be one of the jewels of the MAC - Peden Stadium.
I will definately be bringing some extra beer to share with my Bobcat friends (but not OBC...

Cheers to you BobcatGrad... I agree. I just couldn't resist putting him in his place. Its good to see other MAC schools starting to become more successful. I'm all for that. The more we build up this conference, hopefully the more we will be respected. It's the beauty of college football isn't it... Here's to a good competitive MAC contest. 8)

At least someone on here knows what they are talking about. And what's up with not sharing the beer, bro? That's okay though, I'd hate to see you all drive down here, get beat down, and have us 'Cats drink up all your beer too.Bleeding Orange wrote:I can't wait to see what I hope to be a very hard fought game in what I consider to be one of the jewels of the MAC - Peden Stadium. You are the only Bobcat fan that I would not give a beer to willingly. You are a disgrace to you school, and our conference. Funny thing is, I'll know not to give a beer to the guy with one tooth.OhioBobcat wrote:At least someone on here knows what they are talking about. And what's up with not sharing the beer, bro? There has never been a greater show of futility in the history of AZZ than this. Congratulations OBC on being the complete moron that you are.OhioBobcat wrote:What has happened to BG football? Seriously. I saw the score of the game and swore they had to of had the scores flipped around or something. You mean to tell me that Kent State needed just one play – one play – to score enough points to beat you for an entire game?! On their very first play, Kent State scored more points than you did for the entire game? On your own home field? You have got to be kidding me. I've got to admit, you guys have had a pretty good team and program over the years, but you aren't a shell of those teams anymore. No one fears or is afraid of BG anymore and you just might have the worst team in the MAC this year. Teams have just been walking into your stadium and taking wins nowadays. I wouldn't want to play Temple right now if I was BG. It's like you guys have no idea what a pass is anymore after torching teams with it. Anyway, we are going to crush BG next week and I can’t wait. We beat NIU on the road, BG should have lost to Buffalo and got crushed by Kent State, both at home. For those of you thinking about coming down, you should just stay at home, you'll thank me later.
