Which IMO only ends up being more expensive in the long run.

What I find disturbing is how bad this team plays at home. BG wonders why the home attendance both last year and even this year are so dismal, this team doesn't even play their best at home. The Doyt used to be a place that we were dominate at, now teams come in and run all over us. The marginal fans, and especially the students will not go to the Doyt if this team continues to lose games at home.

Secondly, I know this team is young, we recognized that...but what I saw was eerily like last year. Our starting QB is out with a shoulder injury, and the team quits. Freddie Barnes showed that he isn't ready to be handed the reins to this team, he just simply can't lead the team down the field.

As a student, I was both embarrassed and ashamed walking out of that stadium with 7 minutes left in the third. I feel this game is the game that the season will either cripple on, or will show that this team has done the soul searching it needed to do and will over come this.

I hate KSU fans who 99.9999% of the time don't give a flying crap about their alma mater, but as soon as their football team does something for the first time in three decades they are crawling out of the woodwork to tell you how much better their university is than yours. Their team earned it on the field today, but their fans are bush.
The KSU volleyball team was pretty nice (cute) although not very bright. They showed up about 12:15 and parked next to my dad and me. They were pretty excited to support their football team and bought a brand new grill to tailgate. It was charcoal and still in the box. They were suprised that they had to put it together, and to be honest I don't think they would have been able to to. Their burgers ended up on my grill.

Other thoughts, I'm not exactly looking to drive 5 hours again for homecoming. I'm still not as hard on GB as many of you. Personally I feel you can only blame a coach so much, it is the players that get the game done. Except for a few bright spots, (Corey, Sheehan looking pretty good, and Bullock(sp?)) I thought the team played very lethargic. And I'm sorry but why do you need a coach to convince you that you should play hard and with energy. Is not pride in yourself enough. I didn't need coaches in high school to tell me that winning is better than losing. No one even attempt to break up a pass. Did kent's qb throw a pass that wasn't a rainbow? I didnt' see one player try to get the crowd pumped on big 3rd, 4th down.

I'll wait to the end of this season to make up my mind on GB. There are still 8more games, things can change (maybe for the worse, but still).

This is the best story I've read tonight - I could cope with a 38-3 loss if it meant hosting a volleyball team for a cook-out instead.

Now, make my day - tell me you told them all about AZZ's new food forum!

I should have. One of the girls seemed to know her way around a grill, well one that was put together and lit, but still.

So she was really built and drunk too?

This sounds like the start of a letter to Penthouse. WOW! Just throw in a "I never thought your letters were real until I met up with the KSU volleyball team..."

...there's about zero chance of Brandon getting canned, even if the Falcons go winless the rest of the way. The guy's won almost 70 percent of his games and has 2 bowl wins on his resume, even if you want to give Urban Meyer the credit for assembling those teams.

Gary Blackney's BG coaching career essentially consisted of 5 good years, followed by 5 not-so-good years. He also started out with 2 bowl wins. I've got to believe Brandon will be given at least that much leeway.

Classic stuff! I immediately thought of John Candy in "Splash!" when he burst into the office saying "Penthouse finally published one of my letters."

After reading through several posts about the Kent State game, it seems as though plenty on here will no longer be supporting Falcon Football as long as Brandon is still head coach. I know I've made some comments about him and his coaching, but I've also stated that I'll still support Falcon Football. I've said it time and time again, our Football team needs us now more than anything, we cannot give up on Falcon Football. Doing so would severely hurt our team's feelings and potential. I'm sure several football players come on here once in awhile to see what's being said, and I'm sure that if they've come on here since the Kent State game, they wouldn't be too happy with several of us. The Kent State game is over, we need to now focus on the Ohio game. We can only hope that our players do what they need to do in order to step up their play, and that the coaches do the same as well.
On to Athens!
