You Guys are Clueless

If I could sit through all of the home games in 2000.....well, I can sit through anything. I didn't even bail on Saturday's game until Bullock's fumble was returned for a TD...I had a peverse fascination with seeing all the mental and physical mistakes.

I never thougth I'd see a WR step out of bounds a couple yards short of a first down when he had one guy to beat to get a TD. That's not just being unaware of your physical position on the filed...that's being unaware of the basic concepts of the game....and he's a SR?

Ah...what the hell...it wil be interesting to see if urner can rally the troops wehn he comes back.. Having Barnes as RB/WR would add an entire deimnsion to the offense for Studrawa to ignore.....

Let me let you in on a little secret... its called a REBUILDING year.

Losing 38-3 to Kent at home doesn't indicate we are rebuilding or building anything. It indicates rapid disassembling.

That fumble returned for a TD was the last straw for me. First time I've ever bailed from a game early. I just couldn't watch Kent State celebrating on our home field.

It was obvious that BG was in trouble after the first few minutes of the game. Kent S. was on a roll coming into the game and with all the hullabaloo focused on their having not won at BG since 1972, it was pretty clear to me who was in charge at the outset. Bowling Green has a lot of raw talent --- speed (so important) and athleticism. What is missing is an innovative coaching staff that's not afraid to change course and introduce new gimmics to the game much as Brandon and Meyers did X years ago with the spread offense. --- The play calling last Sat. was just atrocious. I was able to predict almost everything BG was going to do. You remember that Kent State's first play of the game was a reverse that caught BG totally off guard --- a 79 yard run to pay dirt. What did BG do on their first down --- same old Freddie up the gut run that was repeated throughout the game. It worked against Whisky, but doesn't the coaching staff understand that their opponents study game-film. How many times did BG go up the gut on first down and get nowhere. Insanity is sometimes defined as doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different result. BG needs to get some novelty in their play calling; they need to consistently do the unexpected. ---- This is a coaching problem; new blood is needed.
