Bruce & Omar...a tale of two cities

Post by Rollo83 »

Sometimes it just plain lucky where you end up in the draft. Omar goes to a Super Bowl team that is all set at QB and doesn't make the roster. Bruce goes to Tampa Bay and is now the starter after three games since Simms is out for who knows how long. The Bucs Web site says Bruce is the starter this week with Rattay as the back-up. They are also have Luke McGowan coming off the PUP list and will add him to the active roster. Good luck to Bruce...make the MAC proud!

Bruce is probably a better QB in terms of combination of talent and smarts.

Omar just couldn't cut it mentally.

I think Bruce and Omar both like any new QB to the NFL fought with learning the emense playbook and long winded play calling....only differences are Omar screwed up told the Truth...that learning an nfl playbook is hard.
Bruce has slid on in to a spot, and his coach likes him based on the talking recorded and played back via nfl net work. I hope Bruce does the Mac well, but I question his durablity over the long run.

boner move

Luck has nothing to do with it. Omar boned it by leaving early, and then didn't perform well enough to be kept around by the Steelers. What else is there really to say?

I think Omar wins on this one though guys.....It isn't an accident that Simms had his spleen ruptured....He got his AZZ kicked. I think Bruce is in for some tough times!!!!

Omar wins??? I'm sure he feels like that. I'm sure he is happy that Bruce is going to take snaps in an NFL game while he sits on his couch.

What kind of chips do you think he is eating when sitting on the couch? I say mesquite BBQ Krunchers.
I like that steak comes from cows. That is why a cow will not think twice about eating you.

If I was Omar, I wouldn't want to be the QB for Tampa Bay.

Chris Simms lascerated his spleen because his line couldn't protect him.....yeah, count me out on that one thank you very much.

Go Omar!

I think we all underestimated Bruce when he was at UT.

I have said this before. If he is our QB and he's in opponent territory in a tie game with a minute to play (as Omar was during the UT game), his team wins the game.
