Ay

Post by RobbyFalcon »

Tues afternoon on 700 WLW-AM in Cincy, they were playing Stump the Band, much the same way Letterman/Carson does/did.

Anyway Steve called and tried to stump 'em with Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba. It was sung lustily and Steve won no prizes. But he won 'cause he got that song sung on the radio.

It was a nice mention of BG and the song. And not even some Ball State clown on the air with the show could ruin it.

So there's a little positive something-something.

Go BG! Maul the Bobcats!

Last year, before the BG/Miami game, I called into Lance McAllister's sports talk show (in Cincinnati) and gave him a big 'Ay Ziggy Zoomba'. He was thoroughly confused, so I got to explain the meaning and so forth. I think he was just happy to get a call regarding MAC football.

Anyway, so apparently we're converting the greater tristate area, one radio call at a time...

I don't know if you guys ever listen to WLW at night, but Scott Sloan is on every night from 9 to midnight... he happens to be a BG grad. I highly recommend his show.

Back to lurking... :)

Scott Sloan...I wondered what had happened to him after he blew out of Toledo....Scott had some issues with people in Toledo over some insensitive remarks he made on the air, but he seemed to genuinely like the city and people liked his show. I wasn't one of them...but people did like his show.

Yeah, I think whatever he said that got him booted from the Toledo station was what got him hired at WLW. I've met/worked with him on a couple of occasions and he is one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.

I saw Cincy radio personality Lance McCalister Monday while sporting my BG hat. He said, "BG. Nice effort Saturday."

I said, "Hey man, whenever Butler wants to go head to head with BG, we'll make it happen." He laughed.

Scott Sloan is a nice guy. His desk is 15 ft. from mine.

Oh yea, I was the guy singing Ay Ziggy on the radio.

If you're a talent scout and want me to sing a duet with Carrie Underwood or Pussy from the Pussycat Dolls, I work cheaply.

Beat OU!

He's also on XM Satellite Radio 173!

I worked with Scotty in Toledo when he was doing mid-days on KISS FM. He is a really great guy and does come back for Homecoming quite often.
