Saturday is the season, IMO

Discussion of the Falcon football team.

we do need the win, but i dont see it happening. Why, well Ohio will bring the house on every punt....that will asure them of at least 7 points, and several short punts resulting in 10 pts most likely. OPur D will stand tall and earn us 7pts, a fumble and interception will cost us 14 pts. Our O will be spuratic an ohio will fare well against our run allowing us 10pts.

final Ohio 33

Call me nuts, but I don't think this team will just lay down their arms and mail in the rest of the season.

I'll say this, if Gregg Brandon cannot get his team fired up to play this Saturday, with all the crap they've taken after the beating, he is a total lost cause. Win or Lose, they damn well better have some fire in their guts.

Good call, hammb. You said before the season that this year isn't really about wins and losses, it's about development, discipline and playing with fire (I'm paraphrasing here, please correct me if I'm off base). I don't think a loss to Ohio washes out the whole season. However, a spiritless performance in another ugly loss could; OTOH, if the team is breathing fire and comes up just short, I don't think that means we're done.

The real measuring stick, I think, will be the last three or four games of the year. If we're playing with intensity and determination, if we're playing with discipline, if playmakers are emerging, we're on the right track. If we're playing like we played Saturday ... ugh.

I would agree with this.

Me too. Although I still expect a win in Athens, I want to see the effort and strong play. Don't let me see a team roll over and play dead again. There's nothing worse than that.
I would think if all these guys took a good hard look in the mirror after that disaster Saturday, motivation wouldn't be a problem.
