Doyt Perry video for sale

Post by TG1996 »

Limited numbers available through the Center for Archival Collections. It's the "Doyt Perry: A Coach for Life" documentary that has aired on WBGU-TV. For some of you, I'd say it's a nice piece to watch. For many others (FREAK!) I think it's a must-have. Especially at only $10 and benefitting the library!

TG,

My parents bought me a copy 4 or 5 years ago for a Christmas Present.

WELL WORTH THE $$$!! It is full of interviews with players like Mike Weger, Tom Colburn, Don Nehlan, Larry Smith, Jack Harbaugh, Jack Giroux, Tim Murnen and many others.

Bo Schembechler, Bill Mallory and (UGH!!!) Moe Ankney all are interviewed as is Doyt's family. The late Chris Schenkle (sp?) narrated the video.

For those of us that never got to see Doyt Perry coach, it is a great video to see what it was like back then. I now know just how much Doyt Perry meant to the people and University. It would be a great addition to anyone's BGSU collection!

Exactly, Freak! I've only watched the video once, but mostly because I don't trust my VCR.

I got the same feeling reading and transcribing Doyt's obituary from the BG News in Feb. 1992:

What a special guy!

I just saw this on WBGU.... what a great program. Make sure you check it out if you can.

It's amazing what a great football history BGSU has.

It gets a little dusty in the room when his former player talks about how Doyt is the coach up in Heaven.

I lived across the street from the Perrys from 4th grade on. What fantastic people.
