And I've never shared the recipe until now.
Two boxes Bakers Semi Sweet chocolate (red box, baby).
One can sweetened condensed milk
and a splash of vanilla (or flavored liquor).
Melt down the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water. Once melted remove from pan. Stir in the SC milk. Add vanilla/liquor to taste (respberry and orange are my favs.)
Pour very thick chocolate mixture into a 9x9 pan lined with wax paper or Saran and refridgerate for one hour (or freeze for 10 minutes.)
Can be kept for several days but I've never had it last that long.
Enjoy.

Its a brand of chocolate intended for cooking purposes. I use it for chocolate-covered pretzels and strawberries.Zom wrote:I bet you wait until the family has gone to the store, hide yourself in a closet, and eat the lot. And here was I thinking Single Malts were your soft spot.
Don't know Bakers. Is that "dark" chocolate as opposed to "milk" chocolate?

Yes, Bakers is a standard baking chocolate. It's the most readily available and decent quality. If you wish to use a higher quality chocolate, be my guest.
I've used higher quality and the flavor is pretty similar. I bet they would have better quality chocolate in GB, however.

This is so good I had to bump it back up. Making 2 batches right now - one for Baltimore, one for Iowa.
I'm not sure if it's as good as sex, but it will sure serve as a temporary substitute!

Not quite the same thing, but I made a big batch of chocolate truffles this weekend. It was a friend's birthday and she's tough as hell to buy for, but loves chocolate. So I made her chocolate truffles, and they turned out pretty damn good. Chocolate ganache center (with Grand Marnier) then dipped in tempered chocolate.
I'm not a crazy chocolate fiend, but damn did they turn out good

I was surprised at how good truffles can be when you make them with Oreo cookies.hammb wrote:Not quite the same thing, but I made a big batch of chocolate truffles this weekend. My aunt makes those around the holidays. I agree they're very good.Rightupinthere wrote:I was surprised at how good truffles can be when you make them with Oreo cookies.hammb wrote:Not quite the same thing, but I made a big batch of chocolate truffles this weekend. I'm still trying to figure out what "sex fudge" is, myself.

It took me three days to work up the gumption to open the link to this one.
