Game time poll
Game time poll
Coach Brandon has asked the sports editor of the BG News to find out when people want to go to the games. Coach's original idea was to do a people on the street question about it but I figured we'd find 4 people who didn't go to games at all. So, the sports editor and I have decided to make get a campus wide poll going. Since we will be in the union from 1-3pm asking students, I figured I'd put this on here to get alums and out of town opinions. Thanks!!

7pm. I think the 4pm games are too eearly even. Just not enough time to get shizzat done. Though I do enjoy the big games, (like ESPN coverage against NIu/ut etc) to be earlier. As I am in no frame of mind to tailgate. All business, and sleeping at the gate.

Early late in the year...
In November when it's really cold, I prefer the early games. I prefer 40 - 50 degrees and sunny as opposed to 30 degrees at night. That night game at Toledo 2 years ago was misery and that second half made it worse.
Late games are nice during September, but we were never at our home field to enjoy that month. Oh yeah, that's another subject.

i feel that early starts are best. alumni and non-students will not be as likely to attend later starts. And thats who we need comining to games alumni the community and non-students. I feel that the students will come reguardless of start time so we need to plan around the non-students. A couple late starts are fine, but i feel mostly earlier starts will help attendence.

I do understand the argument for day games. It's a Rust Belt thing. I can't tell you how many Marshall fans sneered when they found out Perry Stadium didn't have lights. "Rinky dink stadium," they'd say.
"Michigan Stadium doesn't have lights," I'd say.
I like day games.
But the old 1 p.m. starts never left enough foom for tailgating. Hell, some students haven't even showered by that point.
I think 6 p.m. (or 7 or whatever) is good for the early part of the season.
But a night game is a receipe for misery if its snowing. I can see the argument for scheduling November games earlier.
And, sadly, we have to try to avoid going head-to-head with Ohio State.
